I’ve done my balayage, color, and haircut with Jeanette for the past 10 years she’s amazing! She actually cares about your hair being healthy and won’t do anything that could potentially cause permanent damage just to achieve a look. She’s so talented and gives great advice on hair care. I always get compliments on my hair and will continue to go to her for as long as I can!

Stylist: I had the pleasure of visiting Jeanette Herrera for a haircut and hair color. I am in love with the results. From the moment I walked into the salon, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. Jeanette Herrera took the time to listen to my preferences and offered expert advice, ensuring that I left with exactly what I wanted.
Overall, Jeanette Herrera combines talent, professionalism, and a warm demeanor, making each visit a delightful experience. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for high-quality haircuts and stunning hair color. I look forward to my next appointment!

I went to The Shop Salon yesterday for the first time. I had gotten my hair done at a very expensive salon and the stylist who did it fried my hair and gave me the worst haircut of my life. When I went there and explained what happened (and even crying a little bit), everyone was so kind. Rosa and Stefany were wonderful. Rosa was able to gently tone my hair from 3 different blondes (orange, grey, and honey) into one even-looking color. Even though most of my hair was damaged beyond repair and I had to cut a lot of it off, my new haircut is perfect. I cannot recommend the stylists here enough. After more than half a decade living here, I finally found my forever salon!!!

I was denied service by a stylist I selected because my hair was too short. Apparently it’s my problem that said stylist’s bio on the website said short cuts could be done (and still does which is a real head-scratcher…pun possibly intended).
The attitude I was on the receiving end of was ridiculous and felt a little personal, too.
Anywho, Franz Sebastian Salon nearby offers great service without the smugness!

I was in Bethesda to attend a wedding reception and needed a blow out. I chose The Shop Salon because of its excellent reviews and close location to my hotel. I was treated royally as soon as I arrived, offered some water and apprised of when I would be taken. Johannie was the stylist who did my blow out. She took her time, not rushing me out the door because I was not a regular. She was very sweet and personable, and my entire experience with Johannie and the salon was excellent.

Johannie gave me a fantastic haircut, but more importantly, she really listened to what I wanted and worked to emphasize the natural wave in my hair rather than blow drying it into oblivion. She didn't try to upsell me on any products, and showed me some techniques I can try at home ♥️

I was really disappointed in my experience at this salon, especially after reading and hearing glowing recommendations both online and from local friends. From beginning to end, the roughness and lack of care I experienced was confusing and painful. To start, the person who washed my hair did not do a thorough job (there was shampoo left in my hair when I got back to the stylist’s chair and I had to be re-rinsed), and she somehow managed to tangle my hair in a way I haven’t experienced since childhood. The stylist, Grazia, asked if my hair had already been tangled (it hadn’t, I had brushed it before I came to the salon) or if it tangled easily (this has never been my experience).Grazia was incredibly rough when she brushed out my tangled hair. She used a dirty brush that clearly had someone else’s hair in it (the cape that was put on me also had little clumps of old hair stuck down the front of it). I had mentioned at the very beginning of the appointment that I was experiencing postpartum hair loss; this did not stop Grazia from aggressively yanking that brush through my tangled hair. It was the most painful experience I’ve ever had at a salon. The haircut itself was extremely quick and not as thorough as I’m used to, but I was happy with the overall look. Unfortunately, Grazia styled my hair with a hairdryer on the highest setting, and was not careful to angle it away from my head. My head felt scalded, and still feels tender in places a day later. At no point did Grazia use any product in my hair such as a conditioner that would have helped with the tangles, or a heat protection serum/spray that would have helped minimize damage from the hair dryer. Doing my hair at all seemed to be an inconvenience that Grazia was trying to get through as quickly as possible - she spent most of the appointment watching the stylist who was working next to her. This experience was confusing and upsetting. I’ve truly never been treated this way at a salon. Usually I enjoy the care and relaxation of the salon experience regardless of how the haircut itself turns out, but this was thoroughly painful and stressful. The lack of care was truly disorienting.I am giving two stars because the haircut itself looks fine. I will not be back to this location.Services: Shampoo & conditioning

My wife had an appointment set with Mimi to get her hair dyed blonde. She realized she her appointment was booked for a different service and when my wife went to cancel Mimi got upset and decided to charge my credit card for the cancellation ($175). This cancellation happened 14 hours before appointment. When confronted with screenshots of the salon’s policy regarding cancellations, Mimi says in response “It will not be reversed. It’s my only way of income.” We asked her to reverse the charge and gave her an opportunity to make things right, but she refused. Update: Spoke through email to shop owner, AC. All he did was make excuses for his hair dresser. No apology for the inconvenience or follow up to my wife. All he did was say “we refunded your money. Take care.” Terrible customer service!Services: Haircut
