I was told at the last minute that I needed a tux for an upcoming wedding, what ?! So I came to Nordstrom at Montgomery Mall and worked with Mellissa, what a great help she was, so nice, so professional. I cannot thank her enough. Bottom line: store staff are great, the system AND bureaucracy are a disaster.
I had my first appointment on January 13th for my sister's wedding on June 8th, thinking this would give more than ample time for everything. I am a plus-sized man, so I wanted to make sure they could accommodate that, and get me a properly fitting tux. The store staff were kind and knowledgeable, and I was told that I would have a well-fitting tux for the wedding, and I felt confident in their words. Oh, how very wrong I was.
Middle of April comes around and I STILL had not received my "at-home try on", despite having multiple conversations with store AND corporate level staff about it. I finally received my at-home try on at the top of May (only after making a follow up fitting appointment for May 4th). I was told to bring the tux to my appointment to try on with store staff.
Well, I get there, and NONE of the clothes shipped to me fit; the vest was too small, the jacket was too short one way and too long in another, and the pants were too long. Granted, I was told prior that they did not have my leg length in their warehouse, but even that isn't a good look for them. Also, the store did not have any dress shirts my size in stock, so I was stuck with my t-shirt for the try on. The store staff were very apologetic, and offered what help they could, but they were not the problem so they couldn't really offer any real solution.
So now I'm stuck with no tux for my sister's black tie wedding, which is ONE. MONTH. AWAY.
Needless to say, this company will not have my business in future. Here's to hoping somewhere can accommodate me, and fast.

What a bizarre business model. I live within 5 miles of a Nordstrom that is a "The Black Tux" location. But apparently I cannot actually speak to anyone who works there. Nope, when I called the number, someone in Asia (she was very nice and told me she was in Asia) answered and all I could hear in the background on the call was a rooster continually crowing. She was very nice but told me even once the tux was fitted, it would still have to be shipped to me and shipped back. Again, what a bizarre business model. I'm surprised this is successful. I've no idea the pricing or quality because I didn't bother given the hassle.

DO NOT USE BLACK TUX. they gave me a return date literally next day after the event without forewarning and if you ship it even by 1 day late, they charge $60= predatory technique just to charge $60 extra. They also said you can only drop it off at a UPS store and not an access point or box, clearly another technique to make it hard to ship it back , again to charge 60 bucks. ALSO: the pants I rented had a napkin from a person who wore it before me so they DONT EVEN wash the stuff between rentals. Not to mention everything was wrinkled. Finally in spite of the jacket being measured and all, it still felt small on me.

Totally not as advertised. Only have one size of each color to try on so you cannot even get an idea for suit. Will only tailor to length, no other tailoring. Stylist did not have a clear idea of a well fitting suit. We walked.

My experience with The Black Tux was very positive. Ms. Trelstad, my tailor, was very professional and provided a variety of options of tuxedos to chose from. I highly recommend The Black Tux.
