The terrain company and brand is amazing. Lately, this store is an absolute train wreck. Often messy and the staff seems clueless about their products. This wasn't just a bad personal experience but observing others in the store. Have a question or can't find an item? The staff here seems like they can't be bothered. Website direct you to inquire with a store about availability of an item there? Don't bother calling. It will either (a) ring several times then automatically drop the call , or (b) someone picks up to stop the ringing and promptly hangs up the phone. I've shopped for years at the Devon and Stanford stores--which are awesome. IMO, the Bethesda store frankly doesn't measure up to the rest of the Terrain brand.

Was in Bethesda to visit the Hello Kitty Cafe Event. We had been in line for 1hr 40 minutes which by this point our kiddos were all antsy. We spent quite a while in front of Terrain which offered sitting. The kids asked if they could sit so we figured we would patronize the business in exchange for the use of their sitting. As we were discussing what we could buy the owner comes out and yells " who's kids are these, they can't be here this is my business". At this point we decided to just have the kids stand instead of making a purchase. As we vented amongst ourselves the owner decided to reapproach us to further argue her point of yelling at our children. We politely exclaimed what our intentions were originally and said " it wasn't what was said but how she said it" that changed our minds to make a purchase. Maybe a brunch spot on a busy family corner wasn't the best idea when you clearly have a specific guest you care to service. Unfortunately due to this interaction I couldn't ever see myself trying this restaurant or even recommending it to friends in the area.

So happy to visit this shop for Valentine's Day -- as a plant lover, I spent so much time admiring the one-of-kind items! I found the perfect designed plants/arrangements (jasmine, African violets, orchids, fern creations, and heart succulents and more) for my family members & ... also found a very helpful staff.

Beautifully curated living decor - ferns, orchids, air plants - and designers like fairies that have a magic touch. We bought a custom moss wall, and I really appreciated how patiently the designer Ayse worked with me to get just the look I wanted! She also freshened up an older piece with new accents. I hope Terrain will offer classes in the future!

My friend got a jasmine plant for my Bd at Terrain few days ago . In 3 days the plant was dead. So I went to show it to the manager . The excelente manager that always is there had her day off that day so a "man manager "told me that the company not warranty any living plants and if the plant dies was totally my responsibility . How I could made a mistake in 3 days??? I was trying to ask Terrain if we can recuperate the little jasmine but he (the manager) had very corporative actitud with me : "is not our responsibility nothing we can do for you " So sad Terrain lost two clients in Bethesda . In conclusion look like living plants do not survive very well if is coming from Terrain
