Each time I have gone to Kenwood Sunoco, James has quickly diagnosed the problem and promptly repaired it. In most cases, I've been able to wait while the work was done, rather than having to leave the car and make a second trip back. As we've recently moved to the area, I was concerned about finding a reliable mechanic, but I'm very satisfied with Kenwood Sunoco and will continue to use them for all of our future needs.

Kenwood Sunoco charges $70 to plug their reader into your car and get the check engine light code. Really? Seems pretty petty. Most repair shops do that for free as good customer relations and then work to get your repair job.

Showed up with a nail in my tire and was hoping to get it plugged before it went flat. Mechanic took care of it right away in less than 10 minutes and had me on my way for a very fair price. Very clean shop, will definitely return if I need an oil change or new tires.

Dropped my car off for routine maintenance. The service quality and speed were good--they had my car done within two days, which was about what I expected for the work that needed to be done. We found the labor and parts rate charged to be good value. A charge in excess of $200 was added as a diagnostic fee, which seemed excessive compared to other quality service received in the area.

I am giving one star because the inspector who inspect the cars was very rude and I made an appointment at 2 pm when I came 15 mins earlier he told me I can’t take your car now and you have to leave your car. I said yesterday I was told that it will be done in one hour and now I have to drop my car why? I think he don’t want the owner to see what is he going to do in the car and then they call you hey it has this problem you need to fix and and rip you off. If someone is doing state inspection he needs to do it in front of customer. I suggest all of you guys not to come to him he will rip you off. Very bad experience.

They can sometimes be busy but this probably owes to the excellent service provided. Both my wife and I have been very happy with our experiences at Sunoco. James in particular makes every effort to provide an honest and comprehensive service. We trusted James as he seemed willing to tell us what was and was not necessary rather than trying to get as large a bill as possible. I would have no problem in recommending them.

Highly recommend this place for work on your car. I have been getting my car worked on here for a while, and they always do the right thing. About two years ago my car didn't start while I was out in Rockville. I got it towed to shop nearby and they gave me a 750$ estimate. I decided to get it towed here and Im glad I did. I cannot remember the exact problem that he found but it was essentially a "something was unplugged we plugged it back...no charge"...ended up filling up my tank as a thanks for not charging me 750$ because I would've totally not known and wouldn't have thought twice. Overall good work done by good people.

These guys are scammers, who will use MD state inspection to sell you unnecessary repairs.I brought my car for a state-inspection. The mechanic wouldn't pass the car because of rust on the brakes. They said I needed to replace my brakes for $1100 and then they would pass it. I reached out to my dealer where I do all my maintenance and they passed my car without having to replace the brakes. My dealers mechanic said in 15 years only once he wouldn't pass a car for rust on the brakes.
