My husband and I think this was a great place to stay on our vacation. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the mini-mart was well-stocked with food and snacks. The staff was professional, kind and helpful, plus the wifi worked well for our phones, tablet and laptop. We had a civilian couple with us and their room was also comfy. We hope to stay here again in the future.

NL - Bethesda was a wonderful base for our 96-hr liberty in DC on a budget.Service was very helpful whenever asked: really nice continental breakfast served ON SCHEDULE, linens replaced cheerfully whenever my wife asked, the best stocked minimart I've ever seen in a budget hoter, good reliable information on request and always clean and *quiet. We used the Metro (thanks US taxpayer) for all our touring. The DC metro is fantastic. A 7 Day pass got us close enough to walk everywhere we wanted: all the Smithsonian museums, including the Air & Space ANNEX, late evening return from the quintessential tour bus, even to visit a cousin in a Fairfax hospital,The problem is the taxi service on & off base. It is a military base, so "ride-share" is not allowed. Only two taxis companies are allowed base privileges. But they have offshore dispatching that does not understand: "Pick me up at the Metro". Some drivers don't have access anyway. We gave up after several unsuccessful attempts; and our party if four senior citizens walked the two miles at night. I think that NSA Command staff may be able to fix this. RIGHT?* What's up with this QUIET ... on a Navy base?!? I never heard a single needle gun, tugboat horn or 1MC announcement (except morning colors) ?⚓️?All in all Bravo Zulu! A great visit!

Missed breakfast by 7 minutes and was left hungry for the entire day. I have food allergies and can’t just grab something from a restaurant so I was counting on being able to get something simple like cheerios or a muffin on my way out the door. They were still putting the food away when I got downstairs and they flat out refused to let me have even a single thing. No sorry about that, nothing. Just no. Now I get to spend a long day of travel with a flight out of state with only the few crackers I have in my bag. I’m stunned at how cruel they are. I could deal with the overpriced, less than clean, outdated rooms but denying someone there for medical care a bite of food is horrible. Here’s hoping I don’t pass out.

I stayed here for the night of April 13 for my moms medical appoinent the next day. The front desk staff was very accomdating. I was able to check in early! The staff was able to answer a few of my questions. I felt welcomed along with my mom! The room we were given was handicap accessible and that's one thing I liked! She had an easier time taking a shower. The only thing I will say, the breakfast was a bit disappointing. Besides the make your own waffles, I was expecting something like scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage. I am vegan (a fruit platter would have been nice), so I can't eat any of those things, but it would have been nice for my mom to wake up and eat something cooked. She just ended up eating a few hardboiled eggs, yogurt, and a banana muffin.I did not have a car, so the shuttle service was a blessing in disguise! I was able to head to the exchange and my mom and I were able to get to her appointment on time!I have another appointment with my mom coming up, so hopefully we can book a room again!

Extremely clean and everything you’d need for a few days stay! Would highly recommend for staying the night before an early surgery check-in or if just visiting the area. Very friendly front desk staff as well. Very reasonable rates too!

Great facility except for two items:1. The heater is weak -- lukewarm air at best. Room temp is acceptable but not warm (outside temp 11 to 30 degrees)2. There is no safety/grab bar in the shower.

I was visiting the hotel during my stay for a surgery at Walter Reed. I was given a room that was down stairs and no elevator was provided for my stay. After surgery I am not allowed to utilize stairs, but the hotel refused to change my room.I also requested that I not recieve room serve due to the fact that during my stay I would have biohazard needles and medications that are controlled substances. The hotel refused to allow me to not have room service and every day they attempted to come into my room despite my request for medical reasons.I had a room with a pet and signed a pet policy and paid the $125 deposit happily. The hotel charged me an additional $200 for the room that was not noted on the pet policy and was discussed to me in person or upon check in. I asked what the charge was for and they stated carpet cleaning. This was prior to my check out even occurring and without any inspection of the room. So the charge was for no reason as the management nor any work inspected the room at all. They just charged me. When I contacted the manager prior to my check out she was extremely aggressive and hostile. I asked why I was being charged both $125 and an additional $200. She said the $125 was for steam cleaning and the $200 was also for carpet cleaning. She refused to answer why I was being charged for 2 carpet cleanings. I asked her to show me where on the pet policy and the registration fee that it states there is a double charge. She refused and stated she did not have to show me. Keep in mind this was taking place 3 days before checkout with no room inspection. She screamed "too bad I'm not explaining anything to you, bye!" And then hung up the phone. This has been the most unprofessional stay I've ever had. This hotel caters to veterans going through treatments at medical facilities and they treat their patrons incredibly poor. It is cheaper and more pleasant to stay at an off base hotel. As a service member and a patient I feel like I was over charged, taken advantage of, and treated with such disrespect and disregard. This hotel is trash and the management is beyond appalling.

You won't be disappointedMy family and I stayed here for a night over Easter weekend to visit D.C. Everything about the experience was first rate, from calling to make the reservation because of the accommodations we needed, to the check in, to the check out, it was all professional and on point! Everyone working there was pleasant and respectful, they all went out of their way to help and make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and were stocked with everything you need. We did need more towels, and bedding for a roll away that were in the room ten min after we asked. The little store/snack area had everything you could ever want, it was like a mini grocery store. The breakfast was hot and had plenty to satisfy everyone's differing appetites for sure. Plenty of parking, and the base is very easy to navigate. The part we really enjoyed is that the metro stop is right outside the one gate by the NEX, extremely quick in and out, very short walk if you park at the NEX just for the day while you are out exploring, if you are using the Metro as we did. Which I highly recommend, I prob will never drive around D.C. again. Plus your vehicle will be secure on a military base so you can put your mind at ease! We will be staying here again for sure, as long as they have availability prob every time we want to visit our nations capital! Thank you Navy Lodge!Stayed Easter Weekend, April 2022

So far, good. Good front desk service, the room is always clean,, the breakfast is just what you need.. The only thing is that the work laptops don't connect to the Wifi. So, if you have plan to work in your room, have a plan B.

I am handicapped.I was happy to be in a handicapped room for a change. Much better for me since the regular rooms don't have grab bars in the showers. I am always afraid of falling in the shower..absolutely nothing to hold on to. In my opinion, the bars are a MUST for all room bathroom showers.
