October 2, 2023 Kiehl's CEO Chris Salgardo 3rd Avenue Manhattan, New York City 10003 Dear Mr. Salgardo, I am writing to you to express my disappointment in the treatment I received at your Kiehl's Montgomery Mall Store on 10/2/2023. I was shopping for my husband and getting items that he enjoyed using. When I entered the store Christine was working with a couple. She was pleasant and kind. I stood by the Men's wall of facial washes etc. Once, Christine was finished with the customers and went immediately to the backroom. I waited a bit to see if she would return and she didn't. I then called my husband to verify the products, and hung up. I pulled what I needed, and made my way to the counter. Another gentleman entered the store and was browsing. I was in the store a total of 5minutes before I realized that Christine was not in view for me to get rung up. I made a sound with so she would know that I was at the register. She never apologized for having me wait and in turn she greeted the man that came in after me. She proceeded to ring me out without engaging me, never asked if I got everything that I needed, never looked me in the eye. She rang me out without telling me the total, asked how i would like to pay nothing. She got a bag and kept it behind the counter until I saw the EasyPay machine facing me. I took out my phone and paid and grabbed my own bag. She never looked at me and handed me receipt. She then proceeded to help the man who was waiting, and she was just as pleasant as she was when I arrived at the store. I looked at the receipt for a 1800# to call and complain immediately. I believe that the employee's behavior was discriminatory. I am Black person, and she was of Middle Eastern descent and the man she spoke to was of Middle Eastern decent. I believe that I was ignored because of my race. I have never experienced this type of treatment at any other store, and I am deeply offended. Being in retail myself our company doesn't tolerate this type of treatment from employees or customers and I was shocked that in this climate this happened. I am urging you to take action to address this issue. I believe that your company needs to provide training to its employees on racial sensitivity and anti-discrimination. I also believe that you need to investigate the employee' behavior in this case and take appropriate disciplinary action if necessary. I hope that you take my concerns seriously. It was so uncomfortable that my husband is going to make the return because I refuse to go back there after this. We will not be shopping again, and if this is not addressed ressed properly I will let anyone I know about this treatment. I came to get this product because my sister in law gave this to my husband and he enjoyed it so much that he wanted more. Every time I go in here the employees are so nice and helpful! And they give tons of samples and really good advice for how to use the products. They also leave you to shop if you're just browsing which is great because I hate having a sales employee follow me around when I'm just browsing

I love this brand. Its Bath and Bodyworks glamorous cousin. It can be expensive, but its worth it. Service is good when the store opens. You get more one on one customer service. Other times it can be hit or miss. Heres a run down of my favorite items: Man Scrub: this soap works wonders. Its $15 for a big bar of soap but it exfoliates... men need to exfoliate too lol... my friend loves this. Lip balms amazing. Hand creams: a must for this cold winter. Body scrubs are amazing. Lotions and facial serums are must haves. Lavender bath solutions is my Calgone when I need to escape and soak in my tub. I use to be loyal to the BBW brand but these products are less irritating and much better for my skin. Its expensive but a little goes a long way. The have reward program and you get samples here, just ask. You get a nice little gift for your birthday. I just need more locations because this far from home lol.

I've never done something like a consult before but I did one with an associate (I believe her name was Hannah) and it was great! I felt very comfortable the entire time, she was so knowledgeable and was able to recommend quite a few wonderful products based on my skin type that I ended up loving. It's hard to come across excellent customer service these days but I could tell Hannah truly cares about providing a memorable experience to customers and I would absolutely come talk to her again about skin care products.

I had never actually been into a Kiehl's store before, I always order their products online. I went though and talked to a girl named Hannah who immediately greeted me as I walked in! She asked me what skin concerns I wanted to focus on and guided me in the right direction, and so far the products I bought (overnight mask and midnight recovery cream) are doing wonders! It really seemed like the entire staff was focused on making the customers happy.

I usually don't leave reviews but I stopped into a Kiehl's today (Didn't even know there were Kiehl's stores, let alone in my area) I am immediately greeted, even tho they seem terribly understaffed for a weekend. They manage to help me, and another customer. I think their name was Hannah. But I was pleasently suprised at how attentive and Not stressed the associate was. And I never felt like they were hovering like some other stores can be....(cough, cough, Nordstrom) but I knew they were right there to help! And they were super helpful. Its a tiny store but they have a great selection. Can't wait to stop back in, their products are pricey but last a long time. Worth the investment. So glad to know there is a store in my area. And if They see this, Thank you to the lady with the black hair and tattoos for really making my first visit a success.

It's ok but the experience I had at the Nordstrom in Pentagon City was much better than the physical store. My mother and I came in and purchased $300 worth of products for me and her. The sales associate offered the bare minimum in samples and gifts. They gave out a free pouch with your purchase and although we paid together there were obviously two people and she only gave up one. Gave some measly samples of some other products. I had felt very bad because of my experience at Nordstrom and felt that she should have gotten this big sale.

OMG.. I still do not have resolution for this problem. The customer service promised a response after a research period of 8 - 10 days. It is now February 6th and I have heard a word. These people are ridiculous. Online doesn't talk to the store systems is understandable for companies to cheap to integrate. What is not understandable is their inability to reconcile the issue when given all the facts and offered a receipt showing I returned the products because I'm pissed. Now I have no product and I still have a charge on my credit card which is accruing interest! NEVER AGAIN!

customer service stinks. I bought a face lotion at BWI airport. It make my skin red as I am allergic to it. The store at Montgomery Mall in the DC area refused my return as I have to return it to BWI ... the receipt does not state it needs to be returned to the store where it was purchased. Buyer beware.
