Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon for to go sandwiches. The space feels authentic and not pretentious (especially for a place in Bethesda that sells premium cuts of meat.) The service was impeccable! A kind gentleman made our sandwiches fast and with great care, nice and toasty and packaged well. We got the Lala land and Mr James. Both were amply filled with quality meats and fixings. We liked the Mr James better but I think it could have used more horseradish. The Lala land was missing something - either spicy like a crushed red pepper or sour like pickle. We also grabbed a bag of everything flavored pretzel chips. Will say that the food doesn't photograph well but it so good!

The meat is OK here, but they have raised all prices rapidly in the last few years. So, you pay for for organic beef when it is not organic or grass fed.

Wow! Randomly walked in and Steve started talking to us. Gave us some samples. We had to come back later and get a little bit of everything. Can’t wait to go back for the sandwiches!

Awesome place. Nico recommended us two fantastic cheeses (the St Andre and the 3-month Mahon) and a delicious salami. Super attentive customer service, surprisingly reasonable prices - strongly recommend

Do you miss real chorizo or jamón from Spain?Lots of fancy Spanish-style foods to be found.Parking is the only concern - it is Bethesda, you know!Remember that, just across the street, is the second side with Spanish style, seafood, and other gourmet ingredients and ready-made foods. Pescadeli! Are you looking for saffron? They have it!

Our first experience at Butchers Alley was so incredible, we were back the next day (and every weekend since). The staff are so helpful and willing to take the time to answer all our questions (shout out to Steve at the deli counter and Darjling at the meat counter). Product/food quality is amazing.

Nice shop with solid but uninspired selection. Attention to detail is lower than you might expect for this price point. Cuts are not consistently well trimmed so you may pay prime meat prices for excess fat/gristle.

Purchased two prime hanger steaks last night. Marinated in best quality olive oil and salt. Grilled for 6 minutes per side. Without a doubt the BEST hanger steak we have ever had, and we have had many! Highly recommend
