I had a truly disappointing experience with autobahn motor works in Bethesda. Not only did they fail to address the issues with my bmw, but they also engaged in deceptive practices that left me feeling cheated and frustrated.
Firstly, upon receiving my bmw back from the shop, I noticed that the same problems I had brought it in for were still present. Upon further inspection by another mechanic, it was revealed that not only had autobahn motor works failed to fix the issues, but they had also replaced perfectly good parts with inferior ones, exacerbating the problems.
To add insult to injury, not only did they charge me for the purported "brand new replacement parts," but they also billed me for unnecessary labor costs. It's appalling to think that a supposedly reputable establishment would stoop to such unethical behavior.
Furthermore, when confronted about the issue, john the owner was dismissive and unapologetic, refusing to take responsibility for their actions or offer any form of compensation for their negligence.
I would strongly advise anyone considering using autobahn motor works to proceed with extreme caution. Their lack of integrity and willingness to deceive customers for financial gain is utterly unacceptable. Save yourself the headache and find a more trustworthy and reputable mechanic elsewhere.

Terrible experience. Ive never met a professional this rude.No one will answer the phone. When you go there in person you are ignored. When you are finally spoken to, you are told "too much on my plate, go to the dealership."

Autobahn had me from day 1. Many years ago the gas cap on a 2000 Mercedes E320 was hard to remove. Dealer wanted to remove gas tank to fix the filler neck, Etc, cost nearly $400. Autobahn solved the issue with a different gas cap for $27. They are still caring for my Benz and its running great. They do great work on a timely basis at a fair price. I highly recommend Autobahn with no reservations. Santiago T.

This place is overpriced and never able to schedule yiur car for repairs. They constantly overcharge and give you a hard time when you ask them questions. I would go to a BMW dealership instead .

Buying a vehicle across country sight unseen can be stressful, but having John perform a pre-purchase inspection definitely made me feel a lot more reassured. He knows his P-cars, is detail-oriented and will give you the info you need to make the decision. Clearly passionate about what he does, he is also a very pleasant person to deal with so I can recommend Autobahn Motorwerks highly.

John and his team are fantastic. Always honest, always excellent work, NEVER trying to oversell services. I took my Porsche Boxster to John for 12 years before selling it. Also took BMW X3 and BMW 328i for the entire time I owned them. Never a complaint.Services: Oil change

This shop is extremely honest and reputable. On a difficult-to-diagnose problem, they attempted to fix the issue but weren't able to fix it on the first try, so they didn't charge me anything. Instead they told me some next steps they might try and let me know my options.

Brought our car in for repairs and in the process the car was found to be completely dead. Rather than charge me for the work done they didn't charge me at all. 100% RECOMMEND this shop. Going anywhere else would be doing yourself a disservice.

10/10 the best, most professional specialty Euro auto mechanics in the DMV area and beyond. Genuine, true technicians who are passionate about their craft & stand behind their work. A wonderful technical staff is supported by a great shop manager who is responsive, understanding, and flexible within all budgets on all European vehicles. I have several German cars and trust nobody but Autobahn Motor Works to do so little as a tire pressure check, to so much as a full engine rebuild! My only regret is not bringing my cars to them sooner. Do yourself a favor and bring your car to an honest, straight shooting mechanic who you can trust. Each visit to the shop is like seeing an old friend rather than a dreaded trip to the repair shop. Wouldn't take my car (or my electric tooth brush) anywhere else!
