My mom wants to open a new account and this location denied the service just because we don’t speak English!! I never experienced a discrimination from the personal like they did with us. This location literally quick us out of this Capital One! They lost a whole family of 5 clients of their bank because our money is not going to be longer in this bank if they don’t have trained staff for our community.. I feel so indignant of this situation and this location!!! How they can contract personal so rude and discriminatory against Latin customers!!

Treated me like I was a criminal when I came in to get money of a gift card. The ATM required a PIN to remove the money off of my gift card and since I had (not anymore) an account I went up to the teller. I was told that because the card did not have my name on it (because gift cards you buy at Walmart are going to have custom names on them) they would not give me the money because I could have picked it up off of the street. I showed the teller the receipt and the packaging that my mother wrote my name on. Still would not work with me because they have to "protect" their clients... Obviously that doesn't include me. So now there is a gift card with a small amount of money that I don't have access to because I can't "prove" it is my money.

If it was possible to give this bank no stars or negative stars, they certainly would have gotten it. My experience with this Beltsville, MD 20705 location has been unpleasant for the most part, but today was over the top. I visited the bank today to deposit a bank check into my account, and to get a cashiers check. From the scrutiny and treatment I received today, this is definitely a case of Banking while BLACK, that has to be exposed.I was asked for two (2) forms of ID in order to get the cashiers check. I produced my driver's license and my Capitol One credit card. I was asked about my debit card, which I did have with me, but never uses, so I didn't remember the PIN. The PIN came to memory shortly after that but the teller - Patricia, said she didn't need it. She checked with another staff, probably a supervisor, and I was then told that I will get a text from Capitol One and that I should read the number from the text back to Patricia. I did as instructed. Phone call/s were made about my transaction while I waited. I inquired about the issue, and was told that they have to verify my identity, to which I replied, "I'm here with all this proof and this is not enough to identify me". Patricia asked me, "What are you doing with the money? "Are you buying a house?" My response was, "It none of your business". I was made to feel like I had no right to my money. I waited for an extraordinary long time to get my money. I did say to her that had I been of another color and/or in another neighborhood I would not have been treated this way. I have gone to other Capitol one bank in the pass, after shabby treatment from this bank and was successful in getting my business done with professional staff. After a long time, I was able to get my money, but after a lecture form Patricia regarding the check. Then she said to me that she will file a complaint on my behalf, as if I'm so stupid to believe that. What will she be filing this complaint to say? As I left the bank, there was another staff (I think he is a supervisor) who mockingly said, I should have a good day. I don't have to keep banking where the staff is lousy and have no respect or act in a professional manner.

I just came into the Beltsville Branch to inquire about opening up a checking and savings account. There were 5 Tellers total, 1 with a customer and two on the phone conducting business. The two that appeared to have the ability to assist just sat there. One young lady got a up and walked away, while the other older lady continued to, what looked like paperwork, focus on her task instead of helping a customer. Horrible experience, as I was the only person in the line for 5+ minutes. I will not be coming back.

I went to Capital One branch located in Beltsville, MD at around 4:45pm. The doors where locked. But the branch hours decal at the door says 5:00pm. Two employees saw me and turn their heads and continued doing whatever they were doing. If you all too lazy to work until 5pm. You should consider to change the hours of operations on your doors decals. Totally wrong and unacceptable. ?

This bank is the worst when it comes to protecting a customers account. We opened up accounts for our kids and as soon as they used them they were hacked. We called and gave them all the information they asked for and still they assumed we were apart of the fraudulent transactions. Please be mindful when you open up an account with this institution, they will cover themselves before they look out for you and your money
