Customer service and information matters. Website and Google reads the clinic doesn’t open until 8:30. Clinic makes an appointment with a customer for 8. Patient shows up at 8:15 because the clinic doesn’t open until “8:30.” They apologize for the “website being wrong” and state “it’s been an issue for a while and happens all the time” but then won’t let the customer keep same appointment (even though they were admittedly in the wrong). If they can’t get their website and appointments right, then communicate with their patients that known website is wrong and then won’t honor a patient’s appointment when they were in the wrong, why would I want them to look at my eyes? Let’s start the patient/doctor relationship on a good note. Thankfully I just need a routine eye exam and it’s not an emergency! I’ll be finding a different eye clinic to have my eyes checked out! Johns Hopkins, do better, your patients have busy lives and our health matters, our time is valuable to us and to be treated poorly from the beginning of the relationship is very disappointing.

First time being at this place and was not impressed. The Dr was nice but the 3 staff members that helped us were not pleasant at all and very rude. This place is not very welcoming as a new patient.

Dr. Kuwera is an amazing doctor and always made my daughter feel comfortable. She has seen many physicians at Johns Hopkins for her eye and he is the absolute best. Easy to get a hold of, very responsive and wants to find answers. Highly recommend Dr. Kuwera for pediatric ophthalmology needs

Be prepared to wait for at least an hour. Very disorganized

new patient waited for more than an hour and 45 minutes. I went back for the second appointment and it was more than an hour and when I questioned the wait the front desk staff stated that I had only been waiting for an hour. I laughed asked for my co pay back and left. No one should be left sitting in a waiting room because they have double and triple booked the doctor. My time is just as valuable. I was told every glaucoma appointment is expected to last 2-3 hours not because of the exam or the testing but because of the doctor being over booked. Not acceptable for The Wilmer Eye institute or Johns Hopkins. I will find another provider than values their time as well as mine.

The Doctors and front desk are excellent. The woman in the glasses section was very rude.

I give Dr. 5 stars but if I could, I would give him and Dr. 100 stars. They both have been the best doctors that I have ever had. The way they both care for me about my different issues and are available for me it makes me feel human and not a number. I love them!

Dr Kuwera is the nicest person/doctor I have ever met. He is very knowledgable. My son was given glasses elsewhere by a doctor and he actually didnt need them.

This is quite a long post but please READ if you do not want to waste your time and money at this place. My mom had her cataract surgery for one eye in Sept and the other eye in Oct 2021. I paid $6500 for the lenses instead of using the ones covered by insurance so that she would not have to wear glasses later. After having the first eye done in Sept, she was complaining about her vision. I thought it might be because it was new so I told her to wait for a couple more months for them to be adjusted. After having both eyes done, she could not she clearly. Her vision was way worse than before the surgery. We went to the follow up appointment, the opthalmologist went straight to give her prescription for glasses without asking me if I had any concerns. I then told her that my mom should not need glasses as I paid extra for the lenses. She said in order for my mom to have perfect vision, she needed glasses. After going back and forth, she decided to schedule us to see the surgeon. At our next appointment with Dr. Berkenstock, she said that my mom needed more lights when reading and maybe wait for a couple more months for her eyes to be adjusted. I said it should not be the case as it was already 4 months from her surgery. I mentioned to her that the family doctor said sth about the film developed in the eyes. She then said yes she saw some film in there and decided to schedule for a laser procedure.I later recieved a call that Dr Berkenstock was sick so I told them just let us see another surgeon for her procedure. I did not care who it would be. We went to the appointment and was told by Dr Allen Omid Eghrari that the film in her eyes were moderate. He said the issues were actually the lenses. He said he would not recommend to do laser procedure but instead to remove and replace the lenses. GREAT. We were told 3 different things by 3 different people! Now I am not comfortable for my mom to go back there anymore.I called the hospital and was transfered back and forth between departments for TWO HOURS. I wanted them to give me back the $6500 so I could take my mom to GBMC. I finally spoke to someone at billing dept. Long story short, she told me "sorry doctors make mistakes but we cannot credit back the $ for the lenses ? She said I should let my mom go to the surgery to have the lenses replaced. If something happens I then can dispute it. I was shocked! My mom only has one pair of eye and no I am not playing with it!I called the insurance company. They said the surgeon at GBMC would have to submit a pre approval letter in order for them to pay for her next surgery to fix her eyes .I HAVE NOT EVEN RECEIVED AN APOLOGY FROM THEM. This is ridiculous and very unprofessional. Please do your research carefully before going to Wilmer!

The eye doctor herself was fantastic, I’m writing this review because the Gentleman that was filling prescriptions was very rude. First thing he told me was that they close in 1hour, not “ hi how are you” Or “ How can I help you”. I also had to go to the front desk of the doctors office just so they could find someone to help me…..he seemed like he didn’t want to help me or do anything except get the shop ready to close up.He then asked me about insurance and if I was gonna pay out of pocket or use my insurance, he would not help me any further until this was answered… he was more concerned about money and leaving that place than he was about helping a customer. This is my very first time ever needing glasses so I didn’t know how it worked. He was absolutely no help at all, as I got up and left, he made sure to say to me very sarcastically “ Have a great day, sir”. His rude demeanor and unwillingness to help will be the reason I never get any of my eye prescriptions filled there.Very condescending and needs to be punched square in the mouth to knock him down a peg or two
