The most amazing "thrift" store in the area! Calling Wise Penny a "thrift" store doesn't really do it justice; their selections are unique, tasteful, and good quality. It is more akin to a consignment store than a Goodwill. While the clothes are fashionable, they are more suited for a more professional taste. That being said, there are tons of trendy, young clothes to pick from as well.I am a petite woman and it's near impossible to find high quality clothes that fit me, but everything I came home with from here fit me incredibly well without tailoring. I don't see any reason to go anywhere else for my clothing needs. Finally, the prices really cannot be beat at all. Sure, it's not the cheapest thrift in Baltimore, but after accounting for the quality and brand names, the prices are insane. I can't believe I came out with several barely-worn/new brand name pieces for less than $50.

I am very disappointed in the people that run the store on York Rd. Here it is that this group is given things freely and then they turn around and want to sell the merchandise for outrages prices. Example they were given a picture of the world map that like I said was given freely and they turned around and they are now selling it for $135.00...They paid nothing and they are charging an arm and a leg basically for that nothing. They were actually offered $50.00 for the picture , but no that wasn't good enough they wanted $135.00 , a couple minutes later they said they would take $100.00 for it but no less. I hope that the person who gave it to them free would find out what they are doing. It's one thing to turn a profit, it's another when it comes to high way robbery. They should be ashamed of themselves cause someone is thinking of themselves and not the whole group as a whole. Seriously shame on you...

I was just in the store today. What a beautiful job the staff has done for the store. The prices are reasonable and the quality of merchandise is almost unbeatable. Check it out. You might find what you are looking for as a gift. I did.

High quality items for a fantastic price. The shop isnt jam packed like many thrift/consignments so it was an enjoyable experience to look around. People were friendly. Will come back when im in the area again.

The new COVID-19 policy at this establishment is that you can't use their dressing room to try on their garments, which is understandable. If you buy their garments, it's at your own risk. If the garments don't fit at home and you want to return them, there are no refunds, only store credit. That is ridiculous.

Nice location on York Road. Inside there is a wide selection of clothing and the prices are assigned on poster boards throughout the store. They mark down prices of items at the end of each month, so make sure you go then. Every time you go it will be an interesting experience!

This shop is small, but they had some good items. I came on a day where the items were 75% off, which is good, because I wouldn't have paid otherwise. Reason for a dock in the stars is because I was thrifting this day and I had previously gone to others. Reasonable price for a jack $6-$12 from these other stores. At this store? $40. Now, with the 75% off deal, things were reasonable. I got a dress, a necklace, and a jacket. The store was very clean. The women at the counter took a long, long while to figure out the cash register.

I’ve donated many items here over the years. Small, but a nice selection of higher end clothing and housewares. I got a great deal on used Eddie Bauer luggage 15 years ago - I’m still using it!

There is a great selection of clothing and household items. Sales are frequent. Clothing is marked by the month it hit the sales floor and goes down in price. Eventually an item can be 75% off! The store is owned by the Junior League which supports charitable efforts in the community.

Coming here is like a treasure hunt. Sometimes you find gold coins and other times not so much. Really neat place. Most of the employees are lovely and typically the store is very well organized. Based on the items in the shop and quality of the brands I think the prices are reasonable.
