Sister and I participated in "Plantsgiving" which is a menu consisting of vegan Thanksgiving items. The meal ($125) was prepaid and the pick up time was between 5-7pm. Upon arrival we were told that the person who prepared the food was not there and was on the way. After two hours passed some of the food arrived, but not the entire meal. To boot, no apology was given and the the woman (lavender hair with half shaven head) who claimed to be the owner was not able to issue a refund. Instead, I was merely given an email address. The entire fiasco was highly unacceptable and will not be patronizing this establishment again.

I love Urban Reads,. They offer a great variety, and the owner is an Amazing Black woman. She's such an asset to the community and our youth. You should definitely check this establishment out!

The staff is amazing the books are a great selection and “IT’s a BLACK OWNED SMALL BUSINESS. I’m extremely impressed with the quality of the books and the customer service given with this establishment. I’ll be back again

Terrible customer service. The main number is for both the cafe and book store (should have two separate lines). There was NO ONE available to answer my question (why even offer books for sale if no one is around). The lady that answered the phone was ill equipped to answer my question regarding a book I was in search of. Attitude for days. Lost a customer before I even stepped foot in the place. Good job ??.

The bacon cherseburger sub was delicious! Vegan, but tasted like the real thing. I recommend that you hold the mayo and get the special sauce on the side, like I did. I ended up not using the special sauce either, and it was plenty saucy without it. (But maybe that's just me - I'm not into a lot of sauce in general).

I love this new location in the heart of Baltimore.The owner is awesome and very enthusiastic in her pursuit of helping her customers find the right books for them.She recommended a book to me that I wasn't too familiar with that I have been enjoying ever since.I'm looking forward to going back and her helping me pick out my next book.

Absolutely love it. Great atmosphere. Great staff..Owner is the best. ALWAYS , ALWAYS , gets me what I'm looking for. The store gives back , and does outreach in the community. The support for the youth is outstanding. Black owned, filled with black authors., for everyone to enjoy. Go check em out.
