Second Chance Inc. is a Baltimore-based social enterprise that creates "green collar jobs" by taking apart buildings that would otherwise be demolished and dumped in a landfill. They offer reclaimed materials, including furniture and building supplies, at discounted prices in a large retail warehouse, supporting workforce development and environmental preservation. The store is known for its unique and hidden gems, with new items appearing regularly, making it an interesting place to visit often. Customers appreciate the variety of building materials like tile, backsplash, and flooring, and find that prices can drop over time. The staff and volunteers are generally polite, though some reviews mention occasional unorganized service and rude attendants. The location is wheelchair accessible, though the entrance is at the loading dock, which can be busy with trucks. Visitors enjoy shopping there as a relaxing activity with friends or family, especially those interested in building or decorating projects. While some find the store a bit overwhelming and not always offering the best deals on everything, many see it as a great place for hunting unique items and supporting a meaningful cause that helps preserve architectural heritage and provides living-wage jobs to those with employment barriers.
Fantastic selection. Good prices. Can't go wrong here. I recently bought a night stand for less than $40 -- it is well made, recently painted, new fixture on the drawer & had claw feet. Staff are very professional & pleasant, too.

Wonderful idea and concept, love shopping there, donating is another story. A bit unorganized and a few rude attendants, one with booze breath but other that than, it's a great spot.

Many unique items in the store and in the throwaway section in the parking lot. Sometimes overpriced but still unique.
