I visited the shop on 6/18/2023 and thought I had posted a review.Today I wore a pair of earrings I purchased from the store and they are GORGEOUS and great quality. What an amazing experience I had during my visit...the owners are super personable and knowledgeable. They gave me a one on one tour and history of many of the items.I purchased beautiful canvas, earrings, ring and Kuba cloth. I can't wait to visit again and HIGHLY recommend you visit Sankofa and/or an event they are hosting.

I visited for a Free Fall Baltimore Pop Up that included activities, vendors, and food. I had the opportunity to tour the facility. What a gem! The store has all types of cultural options - earrings, soaps, fashion, decors, etc.

Nothing can accurately explain this space full of cultural art and wearables. There is a store but the rest of the rambling space is filled with cultural items from various countries in Africa that rival any museum on any shore. The art is meticulously labeled with origin and meaning/purpose. There is art in every space and even a rentable space In Which you can plan events , marriages etc . The store contains items of clothing, jewelry and accessories and is also filled with art. I was speechless with all of the offerings . I meandered while my aunt shopped. It is worthy of a stop here for the museum space whether you plan to shop or not. A lot of the art, once you understand the meanings is not meant to hang within a home as a lot are ceremonial pieces but the historical aspect is amazing. Parking is ample either on street or in a lot across the street. The owners are a delight.

I was in town for a wedding and needed African attire. I found Sankofa African & World Bazaar on Google and was so glad I did! They had all sizes from kids to adults. I'm a size 16 and got this beautiful skirt with matching head wrap and the beautiful earrings. The material is thick and of high quality and the skirt had pockets :) The staff was sooooo nice and so helpful!!! I would definitely recommend shopping here and will visit again when I'm back in town.

Definitely go visit. They were previously on Charles Street now on Pimlico Rd. New location has a museum attached to the Bazaar. Go observe and listen to some history.
