Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life, this store use to have great service but now it’s really getting GHETTO and HOOD with these potty mouth cashiers they have now,and management is just as bad.

This week I had the occasion to be in this store because they have a Quest Lab inside the store and I had an apt.. I walked through the entire store and was so impressed. I wished this store was closer to my house. Kudos to staff. Also, kudos to the Quest lab staff inside the store. As close to perfect as it gets.

Kayla, excellent employee of Safeway on harford rd she went above and beyond. I ordered on line messing up. Instead of her just having me cancel she ran around spoke to managers to help me. Such amazing politeness and kindness. Incredible customer service. Thank you Kayla Your supervisor should be greatful to have you part of the Safeway team.

This market is pretty easy to navigate. I like to go during the week in the early afternoon. They are very reasonably priced and they always have my son's formula!

If you're Black and go to self check out with crab legs they send someone to stand next to you and watch just you scan it. Then after you pay the same person barely moves out the way for you to leave. Just started shopping there this year and constantly used Uber delivery to shop for me at that location. I'll go back to Giants. Most embarrassing and the only thing they're going to do is coach the person because more than likely management enforced that they do that when a black person goes to self check out with seafood. Will definitely send a mole in to make sure it's recorded so they can be held responsible. I recommend that you do that when going there.

Decent neighborhood store. Could use more organic options. The cashiers always seem unhappy.

Behavior of the employee at the self check out is inappropriate. When I tried to type word "mango" in self check out search pad, the result did not come up. Therefore, I had to try to type the mango code. As I was preparing to do that, the store clerk approaches me and starts preaching me how we do scanning. Yes, it is nice of her that she wanted to be helpful, but her patronizing, preaching tone was not acceptable. I told her, "Yes, thank you. I know how to do it". Her answer then was, "If you know it why you then didn't try to type the code in the 1st place?". Again, this tone, this behavior is not normal, and it is not professional or acceptable. Anyway, I am moving on along scanning my items and there is golden cantaloupe. The product does not have sticker with the number on it and it does not show up in a search when I type the word cantaloupe. Therefore, I am turning to the lady (you see, now I do need help and I do ask) and ask her politely, "What is the code for cantaloupe?" and her angrily answer is, "I'm not telling you. I wanted to help you but you didn't want it". Again, totally inappropriate behavior. What did I do to provoke such disrespect? If my only fault was to not to accept her patronizing, never ending lecture about the rocket science of how we do typing the product code in self check out that provokes her disrespectful demeanor towards me, then maybe the work with customers is not for her. Anyway, I just left cantaloupe and gave up on purchasing it. I also gave up on tomato, which also did not have any code sticker on it and did not show up in search on the pad. I am very hurt with this behavior. I did not need patronizing tone of voice. I did not needed to be told that she will not tell me the code of cantaloupe. I am your neighbor. I live here. This is my place for over 25 years. I get my medications from the pharmacy. Unfortunately, for exactly the reasons of how this woman treated me I avoid to spend my money in your Safeway and have to go to Giant or Aldi where employees are more professional. What a pity, though, because recently your produce became very good. I have no hard feelings toward this woman. She works for minimum wage, is probably overworked and has who knows what kind of problems, but she needs to understand that smile and friendliness do not cost. They are for free. I know she just tried to help me, but I just cannot stand patronizing tone or hostility. And yes, I do like to do self check out, and I DO LIKE to type in the name of the product instead of the code. I type in code only after I don't find the name of the product. This is the way how I like to check out and there is no need for me to justify my ways to anyone. With all good intentions she had, her lecture had humiliating effect on me and it is insult to my intelligence. Again, just a little bit smile and friendliness do not cost anything and it will make you look professional.

I would have put 5 stars Ms. Maquita was very polite and professional when I ask her too clean the slicer because I'm allergic to pork. However I couldn't help but see the tension of the store Manager Shayne giving the employee a nasty look because she was doing what I ask of her and she was by her self, but she sent the guy to work on the floor instead of helping the lady in the deli. So Thanxx again Maquita from deli.... we need more employee s like you
