Bookseller decided they could get more for a book that they already sold and that I had already paid for, and so they cancelled the order. They did not sell it on their own website or any other medium because I confirmed that the book was still available on all the sales websites the seller uses and that the book was listed on. The book did not sell in their physical store prior to my online purchase because the book was listed after hours on 4/24 and purchased prior to it reopening for business on 4/25. So, the store may be very nice and the owner very cordial, but to the extent they can get away with unethical sales practices, they won't hesitate do to so. Will update this review with photos whenever they inevitably relist the book I purchased for a higher price. Buyer beware.

Royal books has rare and unusual books that you will not see anywhere else. The only disappointment is that the selection from their inventory (online) is not greater.

Totally blown away by the dedication to customer service from Royal Books. After a book I ordered through ABEBOOKS came in a condition that varied from that described, Kevin Royal Johnson went absolutely above and beyond to rectify the issue in a fair and satisfactory manner. It turned out they had two copies of the same book, and had sent me the incorrect one. Throughout my dealings with him, he oozed class, care, and dedication to ensuring his customers' satisfaction. Very impressed.

I didn't visit Royal Books, I visited Johanson Rare Books and Kelmscott Rare Books both of which are next door. Johanson's and Kelmscott are world class stores with excellent stock and helpful staff.

I wholeheartedly recommend this shop to all book lovers. I found there a first edition book by Isaac Asimov with wonderful dedication in a superb condition for an excellent price. The staff couldn't've been kinder and more helpful and the parcel was packed so greatly that if packing parcels were an Olympic sport, this shop would definitely win a medal. Thank you very much for making my dream come true and all the best wishes from the country that gave the world the word "robot".
