Went for Save Your Soul for the first time in years. The sound system was way too small for such a packed crowd. Seemed like people were more pretending-to-dance than actually dancing. Saw John Waters there though, which was kind of cool.

No respect for neighbors and parking! Every time they have an event, there are no parking spaces for those who live in the area. The area is a hot spot for car windows being busted out and tires slashed….wonder why? Some of the summer events have attendees who leave garbage all over the neighborhood and across the street at the park. The hall has someone who cleans up the property but not the surrounding areas. Obviously they care nothing about the community where they conduct business.

On the first Friday of each month, this hall's basement becomes on of the most interesting bars in Baltimore. When you go your first time, you'll need to buy a year membership pass for $5, and then pay a $6 cover fee. Around 10:30pm the crowd really starts to pick up and the line gets long and place gets busy. The basement has a side room with pool tables and enough space to stand and hang out, there's a square bar in the center with maybe 3-4 bartenders, and a dance floor in front of that. Their drinks are soooo affordable, they have lithuanian beers for $6, mixed drinks for less than $10, and shots for $3. The shots are a lithuanian liquor called Viryta and I believe are made from honey. The crowd ranges from 20somethings to early 40s, and the music is usually from the 80s/90s. This is a place with primarily baltimore locals and is definitely a really interesting and fun experience in the area

Beautiful, historic space! Great for hosting events of different sizes. One of the only places in Baltimore where you can try authentic Lithuanian food and drinks. Save Your Soul is always fun there as well. Would recommend to anyone!!

Makes me proud to be a Lithuanian to see this place still up and running as four generations of my family have been coming here. A real sense of pride in culture, family, and heritage comes out of this wonderful place despite being surrounded by crime and danger in Baltimore's MLK corridor. Love the people here and love making new friends and learning even more about my culture.
