Someone needs an updated lesson in seasoning food and not overcooking. If fish smells FISHY then it’s not good! If you have to add thyme, oregano and cumin to everything bur no salt the food will go to waste because it’s horrendous. People warned us about the food at SVDP, but we remained hopeful. Not any longer.

This place is a crooked, scam of a program. This place offers to teach you everything about food safety, and will award you a food handler's certification in exchange for hard manual labor. What they don't tell you is that they placed a head chef in the kitchen that has the biggest, and most nasty attitude and she literally chases away the students from wanting to work in the kitchen. There has been a bunch of complaints from far and wide about how disrespectful she is and nothing gets done about her. The students and her employees don't like her. And it's not because she's the authority, no it's because the woman is extremely rude. Chef Harriet is a nasty piece of work. And they also run the business based off of favoritism as well. And they guarantee free breakfast and lunch everyday and the lunch is basically jail food. They tried to serve us yoplait yogurt that was expired. And they purposely choose a few students to post pone their program progress, holding them back unfairly in order to keep them working inside of their kitchen. Me personally, I would have graduated in 4 weeks, I had 4 weeks left to complete the program but they want to hold me back for nothing. All this business does is gather less fortunate people, fill up their head with lies and broken promises just to take advantage of them. You don't get taught how to cook at all, they just want you to package up their food for them to ship out and make money off of your free hard labor. And their employees that work beside you in the kitchen just stands there watching you package their food and they are laughing at you because they know that you are slaving away in their kitchen without pay. The "students" do a BUNCH of the employee's work while the employees collect the pay checks. Please do not try out the program, and do not try to work there.
