Wow! No reviews since 2016?? This is also for the Federal Hill location and I have nothing but great experience and the owner is the super kind and experienced. I went in for what another auto service had told me that my entire radiator had to be replaced. Definitely needed a second opinion and the owner said it was just a bad clamp. When you need an honest mechanic and does excellent work, come here!

This review is for the location in Federal Hill at 69 W. West Street. Note: you WILL drive past it the first time and maybe the second time, especially if you're also trying to find a parking spot or trying to allow another car to pass you on the narrow street. I have never seen the sign in the profile picture, so I would assume that's at another location. There is no inflatable dancing man outside the location or big snazzy signs, but this place is a gem. I have used John's for brake replacement, oil changes, side view mirror repair and a "clunking noise". For the "clunking noise" he said he fixed it in 20 minutes, so there was no charge. When was the last time you heard that? Never. You've never heard that. I'm from a small town and assumed when I moved to the big city, I wasn't going to find a good, honest mechanic, but Kurt has changed my mind and my small town mechanic looks like a shyster comparatively. I don't think there's any way, with all his customers that he could remember me, but he is always friendly and seems genuinely happy to see me, even when I'm pulling up at 5:10 to pick up my car when they close at 5. Don't be like me and do that...Kurt deserves better. In terms of prices, he's lower than anyone else I have gone to. Goodyear quoted me $400 or so for a brake repair and Kurt did it for half that and was a hell of a lot nicer about it. I can't say enough good things. In terms of quality, his work has always been top notch and I know if ever I wasn't happy with something, he'd make whatever changes needed so that I was satisfied. I'm a millennial, so this may be strange to say, but you don't find customer service like John's anymore. It's like John's was cut out of a 1950s small town and pasted in to present-day, urban Baltimore. Check them out.

If you are looking for superior work at the most reasonable price, this is the place. Kurt has repaired our daughters car three times in the past 2 years. We first chose him because it was close to her rental and he had good reviews. His work is meticulous! You could not tell that the car had been side swiped. Beautiful body and paint work! His price was far below other estimates, but his workmanship is far superior. He is timely and keeps his word. I cannot say enough good things about him. We live 1 1/2 hours from him, but we will use him in the future if our cars need repair. He is that good and reliable.
