Please avoid this place if you can help it. It's one of the cheaper places in Baltimore for the amount of space you get but it's still absolutely not worth the price point. There's a good reason for why it's cheap. The garage was under renovation with extremely loud drilling for months on end. Couldn't sleep, work, or relax comfortably at home at all during that time. Food and grocery options in the immediate area are sparse. The trash chute was broken, pipes burst during the winter, power goes out among a multitude of other issues. To be fair to the current front desk team, its not all their fault. I'd say the people working there were decent and reasonable. This building is from the 1960s but the overarching company, Southern Management, has not maintained or updated it well AT ALL. You can't charge 2024 rental prices for a 1960s building in severe disrepair, its dishonest and frankly embarrassing. Please listen carefully to the other reviews echoing my sentiment.

Step into this 1960s Era high rise in the vibrant Mt. Vernon cultural neighborhood. I rented a studio apartment that had ample lighting facing south and an extravagant horizon, plenty of storage with 4 closets and a hallway bookshelf. The kitchen was nice and renovated, although I do wish I had a dishwasher there. The pool is a nice icing on the cake feature, the gym had the basics. 24 hour front desk/security. Front office people were pleasant to work with.Mrs. Sarah is a gem. Maintenance was timely, usually that day or next day for requests. Youre right above the Prime Rib, enhancing the buildings' vintage glam vibe. There's a convenience store if you need basics too. Parking skews to more expensive, city street parking is a more affordable option if needed. I've heard that they're working to further enhance the security on the street in front of the property. Overall good experience.

I lived here for 6 months while I was travel nursing and I loved it. My studio apartment was perfect and I felt incredibly safe living there.

The property manager is passive-aggressive and ill-suited for smart property management solutions. Five-year resident. Worse each passing year.

The worse apartment I have ever lived in. Trash shoot breaks. Hot water constantly cut off. Elevators constantly broken. We have 3 elevators and the property manager will rent out one of the elevators while the other two elevators are broke. Keep in mind this apartment building has 20 floors. AC constantly being cut off. Many people work from home and we have to hear garage banging on top of our heads despite living on the 17 floor. The property manager is extremely rude. We supposedly share the utility, water, and gas bill yet different people on the same floor pay different prices. You can live in a studio and pay more in gas and electric than someone living in 2 bedroom. By the way these essential things constantly break down, yet our trash bill, electric, gas, and water bill constantly rises. We did not have a trash shoot for 2 months and had to walk our trash to the dumpster, yet we were still paying a trash bill. This is the worse apartment downtown.I will say Ms. Sarah, Crystal, and the other receptions are sooo nice. Constantly greeting you, can really make you go from a bad mood to a good mood, and always willing to help. But Stacy the property manager is the worse person I have ever encountered, and me and other residents have personally experienced a lot of implicit biases from her.

Hello, if you can avoid this property, please do. The building has not had structural renovations since the 1960s, it is extremely out of date, the new property manager discriminates and will typically put a certain race or socioeconomic status of people into this building; the trash chutes were broken for 8 weeks; the elevators are broken every week; the AC needs repairs now and is being shut off during warmer temps.I can say that the front desk has been delightful; Ms. Sarah is amazing and works to keep the building safe. Latisha is very warm and welcoming also. I also enjoy the convenience store worker, Khabib. These kind and generous people, in addition to the location, were the main reason I stayed here, but I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless they were desperate with nowhere else to go.

Me and my wife have been living here for 5+ years and we have seen our fair share of management changes and issues. However, the maintenance team and front desk staff have been a saving grace to living here. Maintenance is always swift to respond to issue and professional. The front desk staff namely Latisha Voyd, Sabrina Britto, and the assistant manager Carolyn Larson, are always a joy and quick to sort out issues.

Awesome place to live. A big shout out to Latisha and Sabrina. Always greet residents with a smile and always very respectful. Both of these women have a great personality along with always willing to assist. Thank you to you both. ??❤️??????

This apartment is really good. The large window is impressive, which is one of the reasons that I choose to move here. The staff here are also very nice, including Sabrina and Latisha. They are friendly and helpful.

I've lived in Horizon House for a year and a half and my partner has lived here for three years. I would highly recommend this building to anybody looking to live in Mt Vernon area. The amenities are great. The gym has anything you would need and has great views of the city. The pool on the roof also makes for great views while going for a summer swim. The apartments are quiet and the washer/dryer on each floor is convenient and easily accessible. The large windows are great and keep the apartment nice and warm in the winter so we do not even need to turn the heat on. I will gripe a bit about how long it takes for them to turn the AC on in May, but when they do kick on the AC, it keeps the apartment cool. The staff is incredibly friendly, responsive, and accommodating! Any work order we've needed to place is quickly dealt with, and anybody I've spoken with is very understanding. Easy five stars.

This apartment building is the kiss of death literally. This place is toxic. It's not green, they use toxic spray in the elevator for cigarette smells and no one knows what other toxic chemicals they use. The manager ignores your complaints and twists your words around. Please be careful bringing your small pups here or you'll be sorry. Fumes from everywhere comes into the apartments, especially the end apartments. The amount of noise will make your pups ill. Attack dogs will scare them to death, so you can't even walk them in the hallways. Your darling sweet loved baby pups may end up dead :-( This is the truth. This place is the kiss of death. I so regret ever moving here and will never forget.
