really unique experience but giving it three stars because of the smell. on the day we went, it was very smokey upstairs and was making it hard to breathe. not sure if it’s like this every day, but made the experience less enjoyable.

Went to Sandy’s ( a couple of doors down ) to grab some Raven gear ( btw the lady working at Sandy’s was VERY sweet and helpful ) and noticed this cute little shop. Went in with my partner, there was no other shoppers present just us ( two young black woman ) and 1 other worker. No type of acknowledgment, anything. At first we thought maybe she ( the worker ) didn’t see us but then she walked right by us and said nothing. This store just resells stuff for higher prices ( Steve Madden, over priced “ aesthetically pleasing “ type of stuff )… the vibe felt as if my black presence and black money wasn’t welcomed. Bummer, but not surprised. Do better.

I would have given 4 stars except my last visit was unpleasant. My 1st visit was 4 stars when the owner was there. She was knowledgeable and very nice. Last week a man was there instead of the owner. He gave another man a price break and allowed that same man to haggle over a lighter, while I waited in line behind him for 10 minutes. My girl friend asked for a lower price and was declined. After standing in line and watching the man get preferential treatment I left without making a purchase. Will return when the owner is back.

The store has a decent collection of nice vintage clothing but not the best prices. I found a 50’s black see through/ lace dress that was in ok condition. The zipper of the dress was wonky and the whole lining was ripped out. They were selling it for $95 and it probably should be in the $30-40 range because it was un-wearable without adding something underneath, which was torn out of the dress. The man at the counter saw that it was ripped and then proceeded to tell me it would go for $500 if it had the lining. There was no tag to indicate who made the dress or to justify that. If you want ok condition vintage clothing this is your place just except to pay way more then you should.

This is the most awesome vintage store in Hampden. You go into double Dutch boutique and then walk up the stairs and there are all kinds of vintage clothes and jewelry and artwork and all sorts of things you won’t find anywhere else. Kelly knows also all sorts of things about vintage clothing and finds a lot of unique pieces- great customer service as well!
