The air pump is broken and when asked to put a sign on it so others wouldn't waste their money, the response was “not my problem, there's a sign with a number on it.â€

I spoke with Unique today to set up servicing appointments. My schedule is difficult but she spent as much time as it took for me to get appointments that worked for me. She was professional and kind.

Dealing with this company has been painful. I started off with auto delivery, I had the tank filled in October and March last winter season. They refuse to call or send an email when they decide they are going to "auto deliver" so they showed up one day the following November, didn't knock or anything, and freaked out a relative that was visiting. They must have dripped fuel everywhere outside - the house reeked of it like never before. I had to leave work early because she was panicking, I get home and hours later finally found the receipt for the delivery stuffed in my mailbox (which legally no one is allowed to put anything in other than the postal service) The tank was 2/3 full, so I wasn't expecting a delivery. I realize the relative freaking out wasn't their fault, but it was an issue I had to correct; their handling of it has been the problem. I called up and asked to switch to will call rather than auto-delivery. Apparently Carroll decided just to cancel the account because they don't have will call for newer customers (Wish they would have said that on that call). They claim they told me they were canceling but I had received no notices or emails. Last week, I went online, requested service. I received an email that they were on their way! A week a later and I've now run out of oil, no delivery yet. I called Carroll only to find out that they canceled my account months ago and have nearly a hundred dollars credit to my account that they made no attempts to refund me. (I would think you would do that if an account was supposedly canceled....) Why would they email me that they received the delivery request and will be out if they didn't have an active account? Makes absolutely no sense. So I called Monday afternoon, no heat at all in the house. The girl was not helpful, just kept mumbling and then I asked to speak to the supervisor. The best Reggie could do was get someone out here Tuesday, no time frame at all, but he was helpful. I also agreed that I didn't need someone to prime the pump so that I wouldn't have to stay home to wait for them. I called around 4:30 pm when then hadn't arrived the next day and was told by 10 pm Tuesday (30+ plus hours without heat) by Kelly. Then at 8:30 pm, I get off of the phone with "customer service", I think her name was Emily, and she said they aren't coming that night at all. She blamed me for the contract being canceled, said it was explained to me yesterday, and told me to "go to the gas station" and "youtube how to do it myself". Then she caught herself and said she could send someone out tonight with 10 gallons to prime the pump. I said no, I would do it myself, please send the full delivery as soon as possible. Incredibly rude. So I went and got $40 worth of gas cans, filled up, and primed the pump myself. 9:30 am this morning, I get a voicemail that I absolutely need to have someone at the house so that the oil can be delivery and the pump primed. My brother rushed over, waited for the delivery guy at 10:20 am, who did not come in to prime the pump because it wasn't needed.... THEN, I get a call at 2:30 pm from Tim, that a technician is waiting at my house with 10 gallons of oil to "get me through the night" until there is a fill-up. What? 1) I said I didn't want this and would do it myself last night. 2) If he was following orders from the customer service girl to drop off oil for last night he was about 15 hours too late. 3) Carroll had already sent someone to fill up four hours earlier. I was assured this would be taken care of as soon as possible, my house is not far from the office at all. If I had known asap meant two plus days without heat, I would have definitely contacted another company right away.

We have been customers for over 14 years on their Automatic Delivery and Budget Billing programs and had been happy with them until now. I've compared their prices to others at various times, but stayed with them even though they tended to be higher than others I've seen. Last night I came home from a meeting to no heat. After some basic troubleshooting, I checked the oil tank to find that it's empty (my records show that my last delivery had been on 01/10). They promise 24 hour service, so I called their 'emergency service' line, only to be told that they had stopped sending anyone out for the night (What???) and best they could do would be first thing in the morning. At 9:00 this morning I called again, because we had not heard from anyone, and was told (after calling back, because the first rep I spoke to hung up on me) I shouldn't have been told first thing in the morning. The best they could say was that I was on the schedule for 'some time' today and the driver would contact me when on route. Meanwhile it's going on 12 hours with no heat and its down to 50 degrees in the house! I understand that things happen - but it's how companies respond to problems that make you a lifelong customer or an ex-customer and based on Carroll Fuels response to this situation, I'm about to become an ex-customer

We had a problem with our oil burner on a Sunday and Carroll Fuel responded and fixed our problem within 3 hours. Shana and Lydia were very professional on the phone and the technician, Joe was professional and knowledgeable.

We use Carroll to fill our generator at my work, so when I moved to a new house with an oil boiler, I just called them up. The home business is kind of different ie. different operation all together, but they've been outstanding. I've signed up for their complete boiler package, and it's already paid for itself after two years when my circulator went out. I called service at 8pm, and a technician showed up a couple hours later, and worked into the late night to get my boiler back up and running. He had parts on the truck, thank goodness. I still get nervous when the oil tank shows one quarter full, but somehow, they know when to show up just before I panic, and fill it up. Of course then the shock of how much 200 gallons of fuel oil costs sets in, but choices are limited where I live (no natural gas lines here). Very happy with them.
