“Staff are helpful and welcoming. They are involved with the local community and support other small businesses. If they don't have your book in inventory, they will order it and it will arrive quickly. Love the vibe!”

1356 W North Ave, Baltimore“I love this African bookstore. I took a healer there and she admitted that it’s very active in there. It always smells so good, the African fabric is very good quality. It’s so easy to get lost in this tiny store especially if you don’t know what you came for. Books, posters, tarot cards and BLACK KIDS BOOKS upstairs along with a friendly black cat that just wants some loving. And all of the essentials, jewelry, spell candles, incense, sage, crystals, soap, butter, African hair products, singing bowls and ritual equipment. Trust me you want to go to this store.”
“The gentleman that is in there working all the time is so awesome and amazing. I love the atmosphere, They also has a wide selection for you to choose from. I am loving One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. And the two vinyl records.”
10AM - 7PM
5928 Falls Rd, Baltimore“Stopped by one day last week looking for books to set up a display for the service of my Dads passing. I was in a fog and trying hard to remember the books Dad had us read when we were kids without crying. I did not get the name of the very kind gentleman that took time from what he was doing to help me. He found the books i needed and reminded me of others. It meant the world to me & know those books do not just remind me of my Dad, but this kind gentleman as well.”
“Really amazing little gem in downtown Baltimore! Loved the huge selection of books and vinyl, and the fun, eclectic decor throughout the shop. I could easily spend hours in here. Support your local bookstores yall!”
“There aren’t enough words to describe Charm City Books. They are extended chosen family to me. Always so friendly and warm and welcoming and ready to share their experiences with me. The books and puzzles are always fabulous and what they don’t have they will get for you. Shop small business!”

326 N Charles St, Baltimore“Bravo, and WOW is all I can say. This business is a great representation of what small business can be and do. The variety of book selection will keep ANY avid reader busy with every shelf of books. I am utterly impressed with the curation of the space that has so much unequivocal character and above all "CHARM" that downtown Baltimore thrives in cultivating. The woman that owns it has a true passion for book curation. She is truly a gem in a sea of explorative readers. Books like physics dictionaries, to the more urban Iceberg slim titles will keep any person, big or small thoroughly entertained. Please patron this business; the books are so reasonably priced. It would be foolish not to stop by and AT LEAST pick up a souvenir like an Edgar Allan Poe inspired postcard or children's books for you teachers out there. If not monetary, just conversation with the owner is always a treat; she will keep you thoroughly entertained.I hope people that see this review know that I have stake in this city as lifelong resident. This place is a WIN/WIN for all that call themselves true Baltimorean "Charmers" as this business has done to my heart. Best small book store I have ever experienced. Stop in, you won't be disappointed.”
“Excellent online ordering experience, both for books that were already available in store and for special orders. I was told that special orders typically come within a week. Competitive pricing, good communication, and friendly service. They even had a complimentary DIY gift wrap station set up in the store when I picked up my order the week before Christmas.”
“Peace and Love to the World ?....... this institution is phenomenal ?. I was able to receive any and every book I wanted while I served a ten (10) year prison sentence. And their timing was on time every time.”
“Just an awesome little, but packed, mostly used book, record, cassette, cd store with very reasonable price points. A favorite stop whenever I'm in Baltimore”
“Excellent customer service. They went out of their way to help me with a DIY compass repair. I can't recommend them highly enough, and I'll be getting all my navigation supplies from them in the future.”

7942 Belair Rd, Baltimore“The most amazing store there is. Tranquil music and lightly incensed air welcome you inside. The employees are knowledgeable and they can help you acquire any special request gems or books they dont have in stock. Wonderful selection already. If you aren't careful you may spend an hour just admiring. Thank you store for existing!!!!!!!”
“I love Urban Reads,. They offer a great variety, and the owner is an Amazing Black woman. She's such an asset to the community and our youth. You should definitely check this establishment out!”
“The mission: "To put unwanted books into the hands of those who want them." I adore The Book Thing. I have been a loyal monthly patron and will continue to do so. The books are absolutely free, no strings attached, FREE! And to top it off, you can take as much as you can carry out. I love exploring different genres and with my vast interests, purchasing books can be expensive not to mention terrible for the environment. I will always search the shelves at The Book Thing or go to a secondhand bookstore before purchasing newly printed books (if you can't get to The Book Thing take a look at ThriftBooks.com). The Book Thing is NOT OPEN DAILY. It is a monthly event that typically falls on the second full weekend of the month, and it alternates between Saturday and Sunday. They announce the exact dates on their website and Facebook page. If you are interested in donating books, please take the time to check their website for the exact days that you can drop off. Book donation hours are 9am-2pm on the designated days. The donation limit is 6 boxes per family. Boxes must be small enough that one person can lift them when full. They accept all types of books except encyclopedia sets. All donations are tax-deductible. We can provide a donation receipt on request reflecting the number of books donated. We also issue receipts for financial donations. Please do not leave books or boxes outside of their donation hours, you may be cited by the City for illegal dumping!”
“In the area for only a few days. Not a lot of options! Especially on a Monday. Found this place on a Tuesday. ? So good! Their burger really is THE BEST. Great vibe. Will be back! ??❤️”
“Great seforim selection and the staff is very knowledgeable of their merchandise as well as knowing their customers to help them find the right sefer for their needs. I can spend a day just browsing in their easily ?”
“This store is like a maze. I wish they had a map so I could easily find the health and wellness section. It did have a delightful smell of coffee, and there are wonderful comfortable chairs throughout the store to sit and read, or a large common area bynthe Cafe if you have a group. The staff are extremely friendly as well.”
12 - 8PM
3620 Falls Rd, Baltimore“What's not to love about a comic book store that has a bar in the back. It's a divy hipster bar in Hampden. The crowd is a little order and it's cheap drinks and beers with usually a live show. The staff is friendly. I've heard John Waters (creator of Hair Spray) does signings here on occasion! It's a fun spot. They do have regular fiction books as well!”
10AM - 3:30PM
7006 Reisterstown Rd, Baltimore“Honest store with good prices. Sometimes help is hard to find cause there is usually only one employee managing the store at any given time, so expect a long wait. But they treat you fairly.”
10AM - 12PM
4501 Charles St #2, Baltimore“Barnes & Noble has returned to its niche as a bookstore for colleges and university. Johns Hopkins store is quite glitzy. The University of Baltimore is not as glitzy, but nice nonetheless. Loyola is in between. The store personnel on a quiet summer day were pleasant and helpful.”
“I really enjoy going to this bookstore. There is a great variety of books, older and more recent copies. They are a bit expensive, but it is well worth the visit!”
8AM - 8PM
11 E 33rd St, Baltimore“Coffee House doubles as a book store. Bookish environment inside, nice patio outside. Breakfast and lunch options for pretty much anyone who walks in the door. Standard coffee house offering. Wife gave the chai latte a thumbs up. If you like your coffee as dark roasted as possible (like I do) you won’t find that here but their medium blend was fresh and has a flavor complexity you won’t find at National coffeehouse chains. Friendly staff. Well kept up dining area. Right behind the Study at John Hopkins.”

3918 Vero Rd Suite I, Baltimore“My book arrived in Canada within 1 week. The packaging was awsome and I was surprised to see 2 additional free books in the package! I will buy more books from islamicbookstore.com in future.”
9AM - 1PM
7201 Rossville Blvd, Baltimore“The Barnes & Noble is a college bookstore below the cafeteria at CCBC. They have most books from classes, a Starbucks, and this nice avocado I bought for my girlfriend. I think she liked it. I also wanted to try their spinach and feta stuffed pretzel, but it was too many calories. They have more than books, its like a mini Barnes & Noble. 8/10”
“As an Alum, I love love love this shop!! Although I do a lot of shopping online for books at this point, I will definitely stop here for all things Hopkins related in terms of clothing. I wear my gear proudly and they have such a vast selection, in my opinion, for women, men, unisex, kids and even babies! They have also added Hopkins Mom/Dad apparel as well, which is awesome. The staff are always pleasant and there is a Starbucks cafe on site. One note, however: you can only return Barnes and Noble merchandise to this location, that is purchased at this location due to it being an academic store because they don’t have the same point of sale system. I just learned that today. Oh, and they do have books?Happy shopping!”
“Love the UMBC Retrievers merchandise, thank you Darcy for helping me find some great apparel. Got the Champion Golden Grit shirt and the Blue84 Black True Grit hoodie. Awesome quality and looks great!”
“Was in town for work, popped in for a book signing! The shop workers were super sweet and helpful. The author was wonderful. Quait, cute place with great options. I bought the Authors book, a professional book, a historical author classic and had wine and cheesecake. Loved every minute of my visit!”
