Today after a while I am prepared to give my opinion about the terrible care I received with my little friend who had breast cancer. We were very well looked after at the reception but the worst was to come when we were seen by the vet named Dr. Sunil Kakarla who seemed very unbalanced and with completely necessary comments, we were in a moment of weakness and deep sadness as she was in a very bad condition. and my family were desperate as time was not in our favor and this individual isolated in a very aggressive way, my family and I do not recommend this moment to anyone.

I would like to give 0 stars but unfortunately it is not possible. My dog was already a patient at the clinic and the service was always good, through the clinic we discovered breast cancer and quickly had surgery (in another clinic that was recommended by them) after that we continued to use the clinic's services and until then the doctor The person who served us was very kind and an excellent professional.On the day of the incident, I realized that my dog was having difficulty breathing, we knew about her condition, it was not possible to remove all the cancer, so we were giving her the best possible quality of life, she ran, played, ate normally, but unfortunately in this day she was already very ill, I took her to the clinic early in the morning and then the nightmare began, we were seen by the veterinarian Dr. Sunil Kakarla who disrespected us and acted in an unbalanced way, he blamed us saying that we should have taken her earlier, but I'm not a veterinarian and I didn't know she was going to die that day, he screamed at us, humiliated us, it was the worst day of our lives, he even said he would call the police, we were in shock because our dog always had the best treatment, We treated her like a daughter, she had been with us for 10 years, when we adopted her as a puppy she already had several health problems and we took care of her throughout her life and she always had a happy life. As we were very shaken, we ran to another clinic and received very good care, they were kind and respectful, unfortunately our four-legged daughter was gone, but the humiliation we went through that day because of that veterinarian was unnecessary, I hope from the bottom of my heart that this Doctor, leave the profession, because I don't want other people to go through what we went through. Extremely disappointed to know that professionals like this exist! Oh and not to mention that the first time we went to the emergency room more than 2 years ago he offered euthanasia to my dog who had a problem with her paw that was a consequence of the distemper she had when she was a baby, and he didn't listen to what the People said, I just wanted to offer euthanasia, because he lived very well after that, I have videos and photos of how my four-legged daughter lived very happily after that, unfortunately I can't express everything I felt because I would spend days writing here.

I came to Animal Place Veterinary Hospital to get a second opinion regarding a very tough decision about our cat. It was close to the holidays, and I was having a rough time with the decision. The whole staff was extremely compassionate: from sharing encouraging words, to showing me ways to help my cat be as comfortable as possible at home. I was incredibly lucky to have found them when I did, and I appreciate all the support that they provided.

I lack words to express how disappointing this place is!!! Dr. Sunil Kakarla is terrible, he is rude and doesn't show any feelings for pets. We took our dog to the clinic a year ago and he was simply rude and said that the only solution was euthanasia, as we took her somewhere else and she lived longer and very well.A year later we had to go back there and it was even worse, if I were to say everything I would have been writing for days.

I brought my terrier in for an emergency visit and they were great. She's been back to be checked and have a bandage removed and I remain impressed with the staff and the doctors.

We had to euthanize our beloved cat due to his late stage lung cancer. It was by far the most painful & traumatic thing we had to go through. Dr. Mallela was there for us the whole time. He was patient, compassionate and caring. When our cat was gone, Dr. Mallela even gave him a kiss on his forehead. It was truly comforting at our moment of sorrow. It's not easy to find a good doctor when it comes to pets. If you are looking for someone who really cares about your pet, try to see Dr. Mallela or Dr. Ogando for a change. The clinic also has emergency hours & open on Saturday which really helps. We highly recommend them.

Animal place is under new ownership since Dr. Gardsbane retired. Prices have increased dramatically. It appears they have retained only one of the previous front office people, who were all excellent. I would like to continue there, but for me the jury is still out.

Dr. Mallela is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and compassionate. When I needed to euthanize my 21-year old cat, he couldn't have been kinder. Highly recommend!

These guys saved my 12 year old German Shepard Dog's life. After several visits to other vets, including a mobile vet. My dog was diagnosed with a simple urinary infection. Never got better. On a last ditch visit, dog was really down, found Animal Place, the Dr found everything and it wasn't good. He arranged immediate surgery on a Sunday evening, she was that close to death. She now 13, doing awesome! THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!! LIFESAVERS!!! THEY ARE A GODSEND!!!!!

We were longtime clients of Dr Gardsbane and Animal Place and absolutely loved it. Dr G and all of the staff were wonderful to deal with, attentive, and caring. Even after moving out of the immediate area, we continued to drive all the way up there because we were so happy with this practice. But apparently the practice has been sold and has completely new staff, something that wasn't well broadcast to existing clients. So when we took our dog in for his annual exam and vaccinations, we were met with a practice full of strangers. The front desk staff was distant and borderline rude. The new vet didn't even bother to introduce herself or get to know our dog. He got a perfunctory exam and we were sent on our way. They were supposed to email us a summary of his exam detailing some follow up care recommended but that never came even after we followed up to ask for it. We'll be finding a new vet asap. Animal Place definitely isn't the same as it was and not worth the drive.

I called to get some info and pricing on dog neutering. She said the price depends on your animals weight. When I stated how much he weighs she said she doesn't know the prices and I need to schedule a appointment to get prices on the procedure. Seems like this place just wants money and hire inexperienced and untrained staff.

We were referred here by the good folks at Metropolitan Animal Hospital for urgent care. Our dog broke its dewclaw playing in the yard & turned out it needed to be pulled. The people here were very helpful & professional, very thorough in taking history & evaluating our dog. They took care of our pup's loose claw, gave her a shot for pain & off we went. Very reasonable cost too. They work well with the animal hospitals; I overheard a caller being referred to Metropolitan for what sounded like a serious emergency. Great place, great people!

Brought our dog Berkeley to Animal Place during Urgent Care/Emergency hours for a pretty serious issue. Vet assistant and vet we're courteous, caring, and helpful. Pricing was provided transparently before any care was provided which was appreciated. Obviously more expensive due to urgent care hours but still reasonable in comparison to other emergency vet hospitals. Care team provided numerous care options but also made their professional recommendations clear. Ended up following their recommendations to great success. Berkeley is doing very well post-procedure. Doctor followed up by phone a few days after visit to check in to get an update and to share test results. Great experience, very happy dog parents, and even happier pup! Definitely recommend.
