Shifu Billy is an amazingly knowledgeable, engaged and patient teacher who genuinely cares about his students. He focuses on important details of body movement and posture in a slow, easy to follow manner. He does a great job educating students about the application and context of the moves he teaches. Jing Ying is very community and family minded.

I have been training at Jing Ying for over 5 years now - and what an amazing journey it has been thus far! Shifu Billy Greer is a fantastic teacher, coach, and mentor and has created a school where all ages are welcome to train and learn under Shifu. Shifu's teaching style is very unique; he is extremely patient, knowledgeable and has the ability to explain the "whys" which help make the connection for his students to understand the forms/history of Kung Fu and Tai Chi. Some of the transferrable skills that I have improved upon and continue to work on are - confidence, resilience, and determination. Shifu has built this school where you feel you are part of a community, you are supported and encouraged by other students, you are part of the Jing Ying Family. Joining Jing Ying is one of the best decisions I have made.

My son has been attending Jing Ying for Kung fu for 4 years. The instructors are very knowledgeable and professional. They also enjoy sharing the whole culture. My son is somewhat high need, and they are great with positive and patient discipline, inspiring them to higher levels. The thing I like so much about Kung fu as opposed to Karate or Tae kwon do is that it is focused on defense and not offense, so there is sparring but not as much. This is absolutely wonderful for kids who are already too hands on and energetic. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I am a relative newbie to Tai Chi, and I could not be more pleased with Jing Ying and with the practice of Tai Chi. Billy Greer is a patient and masterful teacher, and Nancy Greer is the embodiment of community spirit. It is a comfortable place to learn and to proceed at one's own pace. All the people I've met are supportive and friendly. The science supporting the benefits of Tai Chi for body and mind is clear, but I was suprised to find the actual experience somewhat addictive.I feel fortunate to have this place here in AA County.

Jing Ying –Awesome School…Superior Instructors…Uplifting Energy…Remarkable People!!!My son has been a student at Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu and Tai Chi for approximately seven (7) years. He started at the school participating in their homeschool P.E. class… an excellent, fun group activity for homeschooled kids. Billy Greer, the owner and Shi Fu (Master) at Jing Ying, has a unique understanding of how to inspire and guide children, and with his unique enthusiasm for Kung Fu, shows the kids a truly fun time!! My son LOVED the homeschool classes! That was all he needed… that is until he happened upon an advanced level Kung Fu student performing with swords and staffs. Enthralled by their skills (and their weapons), he started Kung Fu classes immediately. Under the guidance of Jing Ying’s talented instructors, including the phenomenal Shi Fu Sean Marshal, my son has blossomed in an art/sport that he loves.Envious of how much fun my son was having, I too started taking classes – Tai Chi and Shaolin Fitness. The benefits of Tai Chi are enumerable and make me feel more youthful all the time. And the Shaolin Fitness class is just a wonderfully fun way to stay in shape! My son and I continue to love to working out at Jing Ying and our fellow classmates have become like family to us! We love every minute we spend at Jing Ying. We are energized and our spirits lifted just by walking in the door!!Jing Ying is a remarkable place to study and grow. I highly recommend this amazing school.Holly HigginsArnold, MD

Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu and Tai Chi was recommended to me by Dr. Daohe Fang, CMD, a native of China, and a life-long tai chi teacher/practitioner. He and his daughters have trained at Jing Ying, and he is a supporter of their programs. Tai Chi was prescribed as a practice of physical fitness that would help to rehabilitate a lumbar spine injury of many years. Having practiced yoga and various other programs for decades to help with the lumbar dysfunction, tai chi has been the most successful therapy I have ever experienced. The new student will soon find an atmosphere of family at Jing Ying. It is present in the educational philosophy of the school, the focus on students practice, and also in its very origin. Owners Billy and Nancy Greer, along with their son Glen and their daughter Lane, made a collective decision to embrace martial arts practice and operate the school. As a family, they are all deeply involved with the school as owners, instructors, managers and promoters of Jing Ying. With head instructor Shifu Sean Marshall and Shifu Billy Greer as senior instructors, and supported by other very talented instructors, the martial arts training available to the student echoes the literal translation of Jing Ying, which means “best of the best”. That excellence also carries over into lessons of Chinese culture, philosophy and history.Jing Ying is also very focused on giving back to the community. Their annual silent auction is a year-long preparation that brings thousands of dollars to local charities, especially SPAN. The donations of food and money help the less fortunate in the surrounding communities. A parent looking for a great school for their children will find exactly that in Jing Ying.Jing Ying is very simply an excellent example of teaching martial arts and physical fitness while helping and caring for all the families they touch throughout the community. In the words of a great philosopher: “Example is not the main thing in influencing others. It is the only thing.” -- Albert Schweitzer, Nobel Peace Prize Winner 1952
