Perverse experience. The staff was rude, profligate, the types I would describe as idiolectic wastes of potential.Very disappoint. Do not go here.

St. John's College traces its origins to King William's School, founded in 1696. In 1784, Maryland chartered St. John's College, which absorbed King William's School when it opened 1785. The third-oldest college in the nation, the Annapolis campus of St. John’s College is one of two campuses dedicated to a traditional liberal arts education. Francis Key Scott, a lawyer and writer of the star spangled banner, is an alumni of the college.

It's a College bookstore. It has every book a student of the college would need, but it's probably only interesting otherwise to fans of the western Canon or to alumni looking to refresh their collection. Since I am an alumnus, it's five stars for me. For someone not an alumnus who is still a bookstore person, maybe three stars.

Very interesting college but I’m glad we went in. Wandered around on a Saturday night at around 11/11:30. Kids were all going to a dance and drinking outside on tables. There are apparently a lot of ghost activity around that area. Wonder if the college kids actually see it.

Once known as The King William’s School, it was founded in the Maryland colony’s “free” school in 1696, making ith the 3rd oldest college in the US. It became St. John’s College in 1794. Interstingly, four of St. John's founders were signers of the Declaration of Independence. The college's grounds are beautiful and beyond description. You just need to walk along College Ave. and King George Street to Appreciate them. Its focus is the liberal arts. Students, as I understand it, study classic texts and debate them. Interstingly, College's faculty members are termed “tutors,” not professors or teachers. Maybe, that is because they lead classes, rather than teach. Apparently, the tutors serve as what the school considers content experts, who "guide discussion and act as model learners." The College's buildings and architecture are breathtaking. The main library is filled with classic European texts.

What a beautiful history college right downtown. Spend some time walking the grounds and relax under the trees. Right in the historic downtown area with lots of parking.

As wonderful as the College itself. From a Latin translation of Harry Potter to classics like the Odyssey, the Divine Comedy, and Euclid's Elements, this tiny, charming bookshop has it all. A haven for the sage mind!

For those of you in the Annapolis area, you really need to go to St. John's College! You will remember it as one of the more unique places you have ever visited! My wife and I go there every year to listen to the unique music of a medieval music group that plays music from the 1200's to the 1600's on instruments from those periods in history. The show is always different, entertaining, and it will make you feel like you have gone back in time to the medieval times. It always makes me get into the feeling of Christmas and maybe some of it is the adult refreshments served after the music stops. The group is famous and is called Ensemble Galilei is an ensemble of players from both classical and Celtic backgrounds, playing Irish and Scottish airs and dance tunes, early and medieval music, and original compositions. The Ensemble takes their name and inspiration from the life of composer Vincenzo Galilei, whose influence, some four hundred years ago, helped restore a vital element of passion to the music of the day. This fits into the style of teaching at St. Johns, which is also an older method of learning and earning your degree. If you want an unique musical experience, something that will hook you on the music that is not played too much now days, unless you go to a Medieval festival. Try it and visit the past that is still alive and doing well in the hearts of so many people. This may even be the college that you would want your children to attend.
