Wrote a check for someone who banks at the Annapolis branch, the teller messed up and deposited it for six times more than it was written for. The branch manager was informed and said they would take care of and there was no need to do anything from my end as that could complicate the situation. They corrected the amount on my friends account but twelve days later it has not been returned to me. Not sure if that's ongoing incompetence or some attempt to hold on to my funds illegally but have given up on NFCU doing the right or honest thing. Am pretty certain from playing Monopoly that the bank should only make errors in my favor, instead they have (possibly illegally) taken a large sum of money from me and not returned it. Off to file a complaint with the CFPB right now.

Rebecca gave me a very hard time. I was trying to explain my situation and nothing was resolved I was basically turned around and told there was nothing a bank that is holding my funds can do.

To solve a problem with a deposit, I waited 1.5 hours, and this was after I was told 2x by one bank executive incorrect and irrational information about how they would resolve the matter. They had rejected some checks that were deposed in their ATM. As I am a member of a another Federal Credit Union, they basically, one month post accepting the deposit, pulled it out of my account, charged me a fee, and then held my deposit. When I finally was able to talk to the next level up officer, as I said. 1.5 hours post arrival, it was discovered and I was showed the proof, that I had endorsed the checks, they could not explain why they were rejected, and they had my checks, but stated "we cannot give them to you, we suggest you contact the original issuer" "even though it was our mistake it we unfortunately are unable to do anything about it". The bank officer even called up the chain to find out what was the protocol, of which they have none, and it appears nothing was requested to ensure they did not do this again. So I am left with banking fees they charged for a mistake they made, and also now looking at going with my hat in my hand to the original issuer, an insurance company (we know what that is going to be like as I was already told the issuer will have to have an investigation and I might be charged a stop fee, and may have to wait up to 2-3 months to hear their decision). Let me see,,,, you mess up, you tell me there is nothing you can do to make it right, and as your message says, "Your service (I'm a veteran) inspires our service". wow, I am trying to remember what I did so bad when I served to deserve this?PS: please do no add insult to injury by telling me how you hold yourselves to high standards, I would rather someone just do their job, do it correctly, and own up to their mistakes, thats standard enough for me.

Tried to cancel or get assistance regarding a lost or stolen card today. Front desk representative Hannah refused to help me in anyway and denied me any office assistance. She simply turned me away and told me to go online. Terrible

We went to the Annapolis branch to pick up a cashier’s check that I had ordered the day before online. The check wasn’t ready and we had to wait over 2 hours while the staff messed around trying to figure it out. Nobody would tell us what the problem was or how long it would take or whatever. Terrible communications and no one took responsibility. We had to get the check that day because we had a house settlement scheduled. NFCU has antiquated computer systems that the staff obviously can’t operate. Terrible, just terrible.

This review is not representative of NFCU overall. It is specific to the slowness, inattention, and lack of customer service skills at the odenton branch office. Horrible about sums it up. I deal with the one at Annapolis, and they are top-notch. NfCU Leadership, please do something. These guys are smudging your history of outstanding service.

Two stars because I’ve been a member for a long time and that service used to be excellent. Employees are very nice, just seems to be extremely understaffed. Going to a branch is painful when you have to wait over 30-45 min to make a deposit. It’s absurd and these popular branches should have more tellers at peak hours. Like two tellers and 25 people in line.

Used to be a great bank. They are refusing to help me because I am a disabled veteran. I had money stolen from a towel head on eBay. I gave Navy Federal all the information that it was fraud and a counterfeit item. I went to the company that makes the items and they gave me a letter/ email stating this item is fraud. Navy Federal won't do nothing.
