Lex was recommended to us by a friend for having great work & being reasonable in price. Unfortunately, I would say that’s not something we necessarily got. We were only really going in for the hem, potential shoulder adjustments, & a simple one point bustle - she charged almost $500. The material was crepe & she said it was really easy to work with. We honestly weren’t sure why it was so expensive for something so simple, but we went with it since it was my wedding gown.My experience was okay at first, she was responsive to my messages & we could tell she was experienced when I would go in to try on the dress each time. By the end though, things started to become sloppy & unprofessional. I was told to come for the final fitting & pickup two weeks out from my wedding to try on the dress with the hem & bustle. The bustle was sewed on crooked and with a hook that is very obvious on my dress! The color doesn’t even match the ivory? She didn’t use a button or ribbon, she used a metal hook. She added beads to try and hide the hook at my mom’s request, but it was not centered and did not help at all. On top of that, she forgot to do the hem! And she pretended that she did! I could still see the markings of when she had measured for the hem the last meeting which was a month before. She told me, “that’s normal, you just shrunk.” She went and re-marked the hem spot at the EXACT same points as the previous appointment. It was clearly not completed, but she did not want to admit it.We had to come in again less than two weeks out for her to actually do the job. And even then I could see the small marks of yellow at the bottom of the dress from her marker. When I asked she said it’s normal and that I was the one that was moving. I literally only moved when she told me to, the hem was so long it wouldn’t even move if my body moved! Also, not to mention a bunch of random little stains wherever she worked.At one of the appointments, she even pushed my mom’s head down as a support when she was standing up! So all in all, the work done at the beginning was decent but towards the end became very sloppy & rushed. I am honestly not very happy with the experience working with her.

ATTENTION: THIS TAILOR HAS MOVED AND IS NO LONGER AT THE 40 OAK CT ADDRESS...Google is being stubborn and not allowing the owner to change the address so I want to point out to anyone that uses her PLEASE GO TO 616 ADMIRAL DRIVE (Harbour Gates apartments). Park around the back and she is the first door on the right. You can call her to ask what specific apartment (I can't remember). Very nice lady.

Lex is extraordinary! She is an artist and incredibly talented. I had a wedding dress that needed complicated altering on the train, 3-layered skirt and straps. She not only did it beautifully but in just three days. She was extraordinary and warm. I highly, highly recommend!

I met with the owner on a Saturday to get measurements for a suit. She required no appointment, took the measurements quickly and even tried to not charge for her time. I left a nice tip for her effort. 10/10 would recommend for any alterations needed in the area.

Excellent job. Repaired my sweater while I waited. The business is run out of an apartment, so it felt a little awkward going inside the first time, but the owner was very welcoming and I'm glad I found this place. I will be back again.

Lex is amazing!!!! She had to basically redo the top of my wedding dress and she did amazing! She is so easy to work with and so nice! My family has used Lex for years and for many occasions and we all love her! Definitely recommend.

Lex is a miracle worker!! The dress I got from a boutique came in two sizes too small but they switched the label so we believed them when they said it was the correct size; they dragged their feet until we realized less than a month before my wedding I wasn’t going to be getting a dress in my correct size! I came to Lex in tears after being told by other tailors that they couldn’t fix my dress in time, and she told me not to worry. She was right - in less than a week she had the dress fitting me perfectly!! The tailoring was pricey, but I paid up front and she had me visit her four times because she wanted to make sure everything about the dress was perfect including the underarms, the shoulders, and the length/train, and it was! Every single guest at my wedding loved my dress, and I am so happy Lex was recommended to me.

We have had FOUR weddings in FOUR years. Lex made my wedding gown and one of my step daughter’s wedding gowns. She most recently did some very extensive alterations on a gown that was purchased from a shop in BelAir, Maryland. When the dress came in, it was quite a bit too large and did not come with the solid white underlay showing off the square neckline that was promised by the shop where it was purchased. Having been to Lex for alterations so many times before, I knew she was the ONLY person I could trust to make this dress right. She had to take the gown completely apart to re-line it correctly. She absolutely saved this wedding! My daughter was so happy with the end result. It is unfortunate when you buy from a shop that refuses to make the situation right! Thank you Lex for making this gown perfect! If you want a tailor you can trust, this is where you want to go!!! We all travel all the way from Salisbury, MD to go to Lex. She is THAT good!!!

Lex is great! She is very efficient, as I came in not too far before my wedding and she was able to accommodate me. Also, she was so flexible with times for me to come in around work or on my lunch break. Her work is truly fantastic. I highly highly recommend her.

Highly recommend Lex Tailoring and Alterations! She fit me in weeks before my wedding after several other places turned me down due to my dress being to intricate in detail and layers. Can not boast enough about how beautiful their work was on my dress. I have been regretting my dress choice for months and after my alterations I finally fell in love again and felt like the beautiful bride I’ve always dreamt of being! Thank you again!!

Lex provided inticate alterations to a very difficult dress and a fussy client. She listened to my needs and delivered. And she did not perform requests that could damage the dress or disappoint me. She also made last minute adjustments to make sure I was sstisfied with the fit.
