Look, here’s the deal! I moved here from DC in 2002. It took me months to feel like the first home WE bought was actually ours!
Took time to also get used to the different culture and lifestyle. We were not “boaters.”
The biggest surprise of all though was how much the town truly is, “A Dogs’ Town!”
Being a dog person it only made sense that I might have moved to the right place!
Bay Ridge Animal Hospital has made tough decisions that have either “helped us make THOSE difficult decisions” or have kept so many of our dogs ALIVE.
They are not perfect! No one is! But they give a damn and their expertise shows it!
Have faith, be kind and believe - this IS the first place I go to for my pet needs. It’s not cheap, but anything that is worth it when it comes to your family members, you GET UP. Thank you after all of these years and about 8 animals!

We waited 1 hour. I asked for an update after 30 minutes and did not get one. The tech came in after 40 minutes. I understand sometimes appointments require more time and I would suggest a little better communication. I am a very patient person. My husband would have left after 30 minutes. We are new patients so I'm a bit disappointed. I hope the next appointment goes better.
The vet was very nice and we hope this was just an isolated incident.

I recently visited Bay Ridge Hospital with my furry friend, and I was thoroughly impressed by the care and attention we received.
The staff was compassionate and knowledgeable, treating my pet with the utmost respect and professionalism. They took the time to explain everything clearly, which put me at ease during a stressful time. The facility was clean and well-equipped, ensuring a comfortable environment for both pets and owners. Highly recommend Bay Ridge Hospital for anyone seeking top-quality veterinary care!

I received a call from Andrew confirming my request to have my pet's medication continued through Bay Ridge Animal / Annapolis Cat Hospital, since I no longer take my cats to their competitor. The same day of my request, that afternoon, Andrew called to confirm that Dr. Rudd wrote a new prescription through Wedgewood Pharmacy and if there were any more concerns or questions that he would be more than happy to answer. Great Service all round! More important peace of mind.

Our dog has been a patient at Bay Ridge Animal Hospital for a little over a year. We have had the very best experience there! Every phone call or outreach is received by a super- enthusiastic and caring staff, and our questions are quickly answered. At every appointment, our dog has been welcomed warmly and lovingly. The whole team- especially our primary vet, Dr. Rudd, go above and beyond to make sure our dog is comfortable and well cared for and that we are well informed. Our dog is very anxious, and they go out of their way to make him feel at ease. We can’t recommend Bay Ridge (and Dr. Rudd) enough! I have visited many vet practices over the years, and I can confidently say that Bay Ridge is the best in my books!

Good veterinarians. However, my most recent visit was not the best in that I have never left the office feeling like a worse pet owner. I love my dog very much. Unfortunately, it’s been a very difficult time for me and my family financially and medically. I’m a disabled veteran and a stay at home parent. My dog also tore his ACL again. It was manageable and we’ve been trying to help him through more cost effective means. It has since gotten worse and life keeps getting in the way of us being able to afford the surgery. I took my dog in recently and I felt that I was being shamed and talked down to for not being able to afford the surgery. I was told that I was going to the wrong surgeon and there were less expensive options. When I told the veterinarian the few times I’ve tried to schedule the surgery, the clinic told me that they had availability that week or even the next day but we weren’t prepared to go through with it, Dr. Stern implied that I was lying. When I said, “I know how bad it is, but I can’t afford it and we recently had a baby to take care of…” Dr. Stern scoffed and said, “You had the baby last year.” I feel bad enough that my dog has a limp and it’s gotten worse, but I can’t afford a $1000 surgery, let a $6000 surgery. I felt talked down to and shamed. They did send me information on different options—for which I am grateful—but the doctor was dismissive and I felt like I needed to explain myself to her. That being said, the service to my animal was amazing as always and they are affordable and it’s an amazing clinic. They treat my dog well, but for me, as the owner, I felt like trash walking out of there.
