I’m so thankful my neighbor sent me to Annapolis Coin Exchange. Even though I did not have an appointment, they were very thoughtful and knowledgeable in evaluating a number of items I considered selling. They were a pleasure to work with, and I felt very fair, in calculating what my items were worth. I’m sure many people are disappointed the coins grandma saved are not worth what they hoped. As with any coin business I’ve worked with, the big value is in “fluke” coins that generate lots of demand and in coins with high silver content. These days when banks won’t help with coins and the grocery store machines take a steep percentage, it was great to find a resource that could help me with heavy coins only worth face value that I didn’t want to pay to move (i.e. Eisenhower Dollars). I was also impressed with their online storefront and would think they would be a great partner to any coin enthusiast.

VERDICT: Avoid. Go to SD Bullion online or a coin shop in DC or Northern Virginia - even a pawn shop could be better. Pros: None. Cons: - Practically no coins in stock. It's more a storefront for its website. - Extreme lowball offers on coins. You would be better to go to a park shop.

My 11 year old son recently became a coin enthusiast and has been eager to buy and discuss coins from Annapolis Coin Exchange. There are a couple super friendly and informative employees that have talked w my son. Unfortunately today they were at court and the owner came out to my car and explained the frequency and length of my sons visits was too much, and that he must be escorted by an adult (despite him being the legal age to be alone). He also said that most of his questions could be answered on the internet. Young coin enthusiasts become adult enthusiasts who have more money to spend, so as a fellow small business owner this seems quite short sighted. Also, it would be perfectly acceptable to say to my son after serving him a short time that they had other work to do or other customers to attend to. Instead the owner came out to my car to address me with his complains and requests and left his customers in the shop without his assistance, all while explaining my sons visits were taking him and his employees away from other customers. The irony! No surprise this store has so many poor reviews.

Been twice. Gary was pleasant and taught me a few things about gold. I felt he was honest.

Just awful. I think their prices were WELL BELOW what an honest jeweler just down the street gave me. This is the second time I have tried to deal with them. I will never go back again, and if you are reading this you probably shouldn't waste your time.

Today, I visited the Annapolis Coin Exchange for the first and last time. When I asked the clerk if I could look at their Morgan Dollars, he asked me to be more specific about the dates that I wanted to see. After telling him the short list of dates, the clerk was rude and seemed like he did not have the time to deal with me. I told him that he could keep his coins and he yelled at me as I was leaving. I strongly recommend that anyone looking for customer service and a nice environment to spend money on coins, stay away from the Annapolis Coin Exchange.
