Unfortunately, I had to use Dr. Volker's services again.....my two orientals (a breed that has notoriously bad teeth!) needed ALL their teeth removed!!! They aren't even four years old, and I was so worried about this - it's a long surgery, and cats' jaws can be fragile, esp. when removing the canines (and Oriental cats have even smaller jaws to begin with!!). I work in Vet Med myself, but I knew that if that was ever necessary, I would have Dr. Volker at the Animal Dental Center do it. And I am SO glad I did - we're almost two weeks out, and my two cats have recovered to the point that they seem like nothing ever happened to them!! I just want to tell pet owners that cats and dogs can very easily live without teeth (esp. cats), and I wasn't worried about that - but it's a complicated, long surgery, and the doctors at the Animal Dental Center as SO much more trained and equipped to do this than a regular vet (just like you wouldn't have teeth extracted at your primary care physician, right?). So, if your pets have to have teeth extracted and it is within our financial means, please take them to the specialist - the best one in our area is the Animal Dental Center, for sure! I'm sure all the doctors are great, I just particularly like Dr. Volker <3Not sure why half of the reviews on here seem to be for a completely different vet clinic - mine is for the actual Animal Dental Center and specifically for Dr. Volker! I can't say enough good things about her, I've seen her with three of my (oriental/siamese) cats and she is truly outstanding. Very caring, kind, and competent!! I work at a regular vet office and we refer clients to the ADC a lot (because let's be honest, you wouldn't go to your primary care physician for a dental issue, would you?). I'm only ever hearing positive feedback, this is an overall really great facility!

Dr. Kim, Zoe, and the rest of the staff at ADC are unmatched in quality of care. They are thorough, responsive, and most importantly passionate about what they do. It is so nice to know they’re in the field for the right reasons. I would recommend them to absolutely anyone in need of their specialty.

Don't Come Here!!!! Front desk Tisha, was extremely rude. She gave off red flags as soon as I walked in the door, making fun of people who called the store on how they couldn't find the entrance, just very unprofessional. Billed me $350 for a 10min consultation for my puppy's cherry eye, the doctors already told me something I knew, why else would I go there. My reason for being there was for a quote to provide to my insurance to see if they can cover the costs of the surgery.... (Definitely Won't be going here for that anymore) I kindly told her nobody told me there would be that huge of a charge for a 10min consultation fee ($350) She argues with me right away rubbing her face extremely aggressively, every time I spoke she laid back in her chair, not listening to my concerns. I decided to leave since the conversation was going absolutely nowhere and her last comment was extremely unnecessary.. " if you really loved your dog, you would pay $350" I was too stunned to speak, I left. Don't fall for their traps. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE

Me and my mother drove our beloved charlie from springfield VA to this place every few weeks for his follow up appointments and his cataract surgery. We felt this place is a corporate scam. They make you believe they will help your pet and care for your pet then charge you eye popping prices every visit without going through details of what was charged exactly. Dr. Weight made us believe that our charlie would be able to see after cararact surgery. We were also given a paper that was denied by the doctor later after given that said our charlie would be getting antibiotics prior to surgery. He did not get those antibiotics. He couldnt see after surgery and we were told that he still had hazy vision and it would get better. It did not. He also caught an infection right after the surgery. Apparently infections are common with this surgery and he wasnt given the antibiotics to prevent that. Me and my mother would spend nights with him for weeks during the recovery. It messed with my sleep and job. I took a lot of time off to bring my pup to the required appointments for him to get better. After much time, gas, and money spent in the months afterwards Dr weight said he wouldnt be able to see and to get a baby gate. What a slap in the face after being told he had a high chance of seeing after surgery. The whole point of putting our senior pup thru this was for him to have comfort, safety ( he was falling down the stairs), and independence and peace of mind for us. We then went to a vet opthomologist closer to us in VA. This vet was absolutely caring, didnt charge a senseless and non detailed hundreds per visit but instead focused on charlies health and his well being. She also said that Dr. Weight didnt take the necessary procedures before performing the surgery. There needed further testing to be done and she said that she couldnt detect the retina detachment that dr. Weight did. His eye wasnt clear enough for her to see. Please don't fall for this overpriced and eye gouging clinic. There are doctors that aren't greedy and just in it for the money who actually know what they are doing and they have your pet's well being first in mind. Our pets are our family members and they should be treated as such. I just wish I could get my money and time back but I learned all this too late.

Everyone @ this place is professional and an expert. My older, huge, dog had very bad teeth and I did not want to have a local vet do the treatment - anesthesia is scary. I wanted the best and thus drove my dog 2 hours to this specialist that only does teeth. Dr. Volker & her staff were great. My dog did very well and recovered quickly - I am sure this is solely because they are experts at teeth cleaning. The drive and $s was worth it for me - knowing my dog would get Expert care - and for my dog - who recovered quickly and had no unplanned problems. Highly recommend.

Never would I ever go there!!!We took our healthy 4 year old and have spent over $6000. It's been 2 months of hell nursing her back from whatever happened there. Of course there is no accountability. Big surprise, right?Zero stars.

Just amazing people all around: Front desk to the back room. Dr. Weigt is an exceptional and caring human being. These people generally care for the wellbeing of your pet, and it comes through with each and every visit.

Couldn't be happier with the care my dog, Salem, received at Animal Dental Center in Annapolis. Doctor Hutt did a great job providing information on the root canal procedure before hand as well as providing a thorough update after. He made us feel very comfortable and informed. The entire team made Salem (a nervous rescue pup) feel comfortable from start to finish. Of course the root canal was a success and Salem was in terrific shape after. It is clear that the team at Animal Dental Center truly care about the wellbeing of the animals they help. They have even checked in multiple times after the procedure to ensure that Salem is doing well. Highly recommend!

We were first referred here about a year ago by our "regular" vet due to our fur baby's swollen eye and this was her followup. As with most facilities (during the pandemic), I had to wait in the car while my baby was taken inside the clinic for evaluation and treatment. I found the staff to be pleasant and accommodating, and the doctor knowledgeable and efficient. After she was taken inside and evaluated, the doctor called with her diagnosis and treatment plan. She also came to my car and showed me the images she had taken of my baby's eye and explained the "how, where do we go from here". (This was very appreciated). Fast forward to now and the eye has completely healed (although a new issue is present.) We have had a pleasant experience with this facility and the only negative I can comment on is the COST! OMG!!! But we LOVE our fur babies, don't we.

Everyone who knows me knows Jackson only receives top notch care so when it comes to his mouth, I am no different lol. I am always super anxious to put him under even though he's healthy & active... he is still 13 so it's always extra worrisome. Dr. Jason Hutt put my mind at ease and I knew he was in good hands the moment I talked to him. We actually came here 10+ years ago for a different tooth issue he had and I am glad to see the service and professionalism is the same!

My family had the most amazing experience with Dr. Kim! Our dog is elderly with heart issues and had to have extensive surgery. Dr. Kim and team provided top notch care and expertise, and took the time to explain everything thoroughly at each stage in the process. The operation went well and we are confident in the prescribed aftercare. Thank you Dr. Kim and Animal Dental Center!

What a joke this place is! I bring in my 13 year old dog that has a growth on his eyelid. The assistant comes in and starts doing these tests on my dog before the Dr. comes in. One is a tear test and two others (one tested for glaucoma I believe) were done without telling me why they were being done. I just wanted to see if my dog needed to have the growth removed from his eyelid and how much it would cost. Finally, the Dr. comes in, looks at the eyes and tells me he qualifies for a cryo procedure where they remove the growth by freezing it like with a wart. Just local anesthesia. She talks about how they can do it today, etc. When she was done, I ask how much is the procedure? $1,900 she says...to freeze off a growth! I said "no thanks". She said, "Do you want to think about it?". I say "nope", we are good. So I go to check out and there is an exam fee of $113 which was fine but three other charges and a bill of $289! They spent a grand total of 10 minutes max in the room. $289 just to tell me I would have to spend $1,900 is excessive...and that was the cheap option. I talked to a manager about the charges and she basically said that $289 is the bare minimum for a new patient and did not feel it was excessive. Fortunately, I can afford to pay but not everyone can afford those costs for that level of service. No prescriptions were included in that cost either. This is a money grab so beware going in.

My puppy had an appointment set for 9:30AM for surgery. I had to call them to get an update on him at 2:30pm just for them to tell me he's up next after another dogs surgery. The very dry and insensitive receptionist acted as if I was asking a dumb question when I asked "if his appointments was at 9:30 why hasn't he been seen yet?" Her response was "we've been doing surgeries since 10:30 (an hour after I got there and his SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT ) and we had 2 emergency surgeries." She then left for a long pause of silence until I then said "ooookayy so" To just respond "Yep" I recognize her voice because I spoke with her before when I tried to make my appointment and she had the same attitude problem 2 months ago. Now my puppy won't be ready for pickup til closing time for a 15-30min surgery. This is ridiculous. Everyone else was very pleasant and nice. I wish I could remember the lady's name, I believe it started with a D, it was like Deshae or something. She sounds fairly young, somewhere between 30-40. The reason why I rate 3/5 is mostly because of her and her attitude, she didn't seem to care at all about the fact that I had been waiting since 9:30am. No sorry for the inconvenience or we appreciate your patience, just "yep... we'll call you when it's done." On top of that this isn't my first experience with her. My issues with the establishment as a whole, this surgery that I scheduled an appointment for costs 2k for him to not be seen at the time he was scheduled for. Nor did anyone feel the need to update me on the delay. I'm sitting here thinking the worst because: I didn't get a call with an update I had to call them, twice (they didn't answer the first time) I know it's a quick surgery There is no reason for this. Delays fine, emergencies fine; but rude and inconsiderate receptionist and lack of communication and update due to these things. Unacceptable Go to spay now. I will add or reduce starts once I get him back.

Dr. Kim was amazing! Having had traumatic experiences at other places I was worried about my 13 year old mini Doxi and younger Malinois. Dr. Kim explained everything thoroughly and professionally and made sure I understood the procedure and aftermath. I felt my dogs were in the best possible hands. The results were excellent tool
