“An exceptional experience at a fine institution. The proprietor Ed took care of us in a timely manner without lacking even the smallest attention to detail. We are visiting for the DC Mardi Gras and needed tuxedos last minute. Ed was very accommodating and his prices were so reasonable! We are leaving tomorrow and he even offered to pickup our clothes from the hotel for us. Wow! Great service, and will definitely be back next time in DC. Oh and he recommended Martin's Tavern for lunch, a local establishment, calling the manager to ensure we got in!”

“I went to Ms. Ama with my daughter and together she altered my daughter's wedding dress and my mother of the bride dress. My dress was 2 sizes too big and after she tailored it, it looked like it was made just for me -- it looked stunning. She altered the dress several times because my weight changed and never charged me any extra. Ama did extensive alterations to my daughter's dress including a whole extra tulle layer. Ama was able to visualize my daughter's vision and the dress was stunning. She also made a beautiful bustle. She is so talented and a pleasure to work with. My daughter and I really bonded with Ama during the fittings and we LOVED working with her. Thank you Ama!”

“I've known I wanted to shop for a dress at Anthropologie for over a decade, ever since I walked into one as a teenager and fell in love with the dresses hanging up around the space. Sarah was our bridal stylist and she was absolutely amazing. She was so friendly and attentive, she really made me feel special and made sure to check in with me and figure out exactly what I liked and didn't. We tried in seven dresses total, and I ended up trying two again, all within the hour-long session. I honestly had no expectations coming in, I thought I'd try a few on and then come back for a second appointment. But I'm so excited to say I found the perfect dress for my elopement. The one I chose ended up around $1300, which was a great price for how gorgeous and well made the dress is. We bought before we left and it was back ordered, so I should get it in a few weeks! Thank you to Sarah and the entire Anthropologie team, it was such a fun, easy experience and all of the dresses are so gorgeous.”

“My daughter's prom is approaching and we purchased a beautiful mermaid-styled dress at a bridal shop where it would be altered. They cut the train off and my daughter and I were heartbroken. They reattached it but the seam was highly visible and the nylon tulle underneath was not reattached. Alvin is an angel. He worked a miracle on earth and, now, my daughter is over the moon! When she graduates college, I'm ordering a custom-made dress for her from him. His skills are impeccable. I wish we had ordered one made for prom but I have learned my lesson. I am going to the best from the start and the best is Alvin! Thank you for saving my child's prom!!!!”

She gave amazing recommendations and I really appreciate her honest feedback in identifying styles that flattered me (as well as ones that didn't necessarily work)! As someone with a mid-size/curvy body type, I was really happy that many of the samples came in sizes to fit me. I was lucky enough to visit during a sample sale, so I paid 50% of the list price for a gorgeous dress in wonderful condition. I would highly recommend Carine's to any bride-to-be!”
