The Claggett Center is known for its convenient location, personalized service, and satisfied guest groups. As you arrive, you immediately sense that the Center is unique -- situated on 268 acres with a working farm and fantastic views of Sugarloaf Mountain and the Monocacy River Valley. The Center is nestled in the rolling hills of Frederick County, yet only an hour's drive from three international airports. It's a place where inspiration abounds.This place is very quick. I retreat place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The staff and food was delicious. I will definitely return.

The Claggett Center is by far the best retreat center we have experienced in 36 years. The place was very clean and the staff was fantastic! Thanks to everyone at The Claggett Center for you exceptional service.

Our family loves being at the Claggett Center! Our teen agers grew up at Claggett summer camps, with the best and most kind counselors. I've come on group retreats and alone for a personal retreat. The food is always good- with healthy options that I appreciate. The trails have been freshened up during COVID pandemic and it's always refreshing to walk along the Monocracy River trails and along the edge of the nearby cornfields at any season. The staff is really committed to their work of hospitality, and there is a gentle and grace-filled presence in this place. The outdoor labyrinth is really great, too!

I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS HERE AGAIN. TERRIBLE SERVICE. THEY THREW AWAY MY ITEMS. Upon checking out I had air pods sitting on bed. I promptly notified the business and spoke to Debbie. She stated she would check the room, "I will check today and I will definitely call you back". The next day no call and phoned again, "and I did not have time to check yesterday, but I will definitely call you back". I explained these were sitting right on bed spread in covers, "I will definitely check today and call you back". No phone call. Closed the next day on Sunday. Then on Monday I get online line text message stating these are not in room. I phone Debbie and and she could not confirm the cleaning person checked linen to retrieve these and she still did not check room, "but I would assume they would have". I explained to Debbie that housekeeping a tossed these out with linen, "and I will definitely check today and call you back and follow-up with person that does laundry". No phone call and I phone business manager the next day when Debbie is off and she did not communicate anything to business manager. Business manager informs me that these airpods "were probably thrown out with linen and the cleaning person likely would not have known to check". I explained issue with Debbie and just crickets, "I will call the laundry company". Also, when I checked the reviews I could see these were locals on here and I suspect several of these reviews are not legit.ROOM CONDITION: Below average. Towel racks falling off due to not installed correctly. Bedspreads covered bed halfway and were incorrect fit. No fridge or microwave. View of parking lot despite vacant rooms with much better view. Nothing special. Some of the food had clearly been stored after yesterday meal and later reheated the next day. Some of the food was descent though.
