This is my second visit to the Accokeek Branch, in recent weeks. It was such a pleasure meeting, Ms. Hillary. She has a pleasant personality and provides great customer service. Thank YOU Hillary and thank you USPS for hiring an exceptional employee to serve our small community. ?

This post office is a very nice quaint one. But has all the services one man show.

The drivers have very little care for people's property. They have ran over and broken my own garbage pails and this is how they left my new neighbors. Can't be bothered to drive around them, much less step one foot out of their trucks to avoid running over property.

Tried to explain to the lady that my package met the requirements for ground advantage and she wouldn’t allow me to do it. I have shipped over to 1000+ times. I know what I am talking about.

In October 2023, I saw in my informed delivery that I was receiving a birthday card which contained a $200 gift card, but this mail was never delivered. When I asked at the Accokeek post office, I was told that since there was no tracking number, they were not responsible for the mail. I never received the card and the gift card up till this day.Today, I received another notice of a mail containing a check but upon picking up my mails, it was not among the mails that I received. The envelope clearly shows “pay to the order of …”Somehow, the mails with monetary value always seem to be missing which makes me wonder about both our mail man/woman and the people that process the mails in that post office. Whatever the case, some is really wrong there.I have opened up a case and I hope something comes out of it.

Very poor customer service, postal workers were more interested in talking to each other than Servicing customers.

Intentionally does not deliver mail. I’ve had nothing but issues with this post office since moving here. The incompetence, unprofessionalism and downright stupidity is incomprehensible to me. This post office needs a complete overhaul. Unbelievable. I’m trying to think of a singular positive thing to say, but there’s nothing, just a void of brainlessness.

Literally the worse post office I have been to and I have dealt with some rude postal workers all my packaged used to be damaged or not delivered at all so I got a P.O. Box thinking I would get some form of decent customer service now that I am giving away my money to them but that’s not the case at all and when I try to call the place to speak with someone no one ever answers I will be moving my P.O. Box to another post office iv had it with being treated horribly by this post office

Always losing our mail, and still send us the previous owners mail which makes no sense because they did a change of address. They take photos of our mail and then it just doesn't show up in the mailbox....My VA DPOR license was lost and so was my boyfriends new credit card!!

This location is super tiny. The customer side of counter area is maybe 20 × 10 SQ ft. The size of a trailer really and off the beaten path in Accokeek - which is why I come here occasionally... When the larger post offices are crowded you can get in and out despite the limited parking inside this tiny lot that can only hold about eight cars. Sometimes you have to ring the bell when you come inside because nobody's at the counter. Very small town Mayberry RFD-ish. You halfway expect Andy or Barney to pull up at some point. I was majorly annoyed yesterday when I went to drop a package off. It had a prepaid label so all I needed to do was hand it to the clerk and get my receipt. After she received the package she then informed me that, "we no longer give receipts", which puzzled me so I asked her to repeat it and then asked why. She didn't know why nor did she know if there were other post offices that had adopted this policy - and didn't seem to care one way or the other. Are they cutting back on paper now too?? Given all the drama that Louis DeJoy has created since he took over the post office it wouldn't surprise me, and I would be foolish to hand them a package - for them to potentially lose or misplace - and I don't have a receipt??? That's like handing them a green light for shenanigans and the deniability to go along with whatever happens next. I requested my package back from her and took it to the Fort Washington location a few miles up the road where they seemed [equally] puzzled as I as to why she would have made such a statement - since they took my package and handed me a receipt. This Mayberry RFD location is weird so I'll be avoiding it going forward.

This office likes to leave large packages on the side walk in the rain even when there is a covered porch to the frontdoor two feet away. Pathetic!
