This is actually for the grocery store. I already wrote one positive review of Sobeys and I don't think I can make multiple reviews on here, but it's amazing how one bad experience can change things. Just recently, I quickly grabbed a bag of lemons per my wife's request. Found some strawberries on sale so I got two plastics. Line up wasn't bad as it was already almost 10PM. Cashier was talking so fondly with the first customer, she bid her goodbye after. Then it was the second customers' turn, husband and wife who she also served so seemingly kind. Before it was my turn, she was looking at me weird. I didn't know what it was. I was just standing there waiting but when it was my turn she didn't greet me, no "Hi" or "Hello" or "How are you". In my mind "OK, she's probably just tired because it's almost closing time." She was also busy talking to someone behind her. But up to my last item, she didn't even bother asking me if I needed a bag or how I was paying or if I had a Scene card. Not even a "Thank you" when she handed me the receipt. There is definitely something wrong, I don't know if it's the way I looked physically or because I only bought a few items or becuase I'm not white (the two customers before me were white). That was the worst service I got from Sobeys. All of us go through some bad days, but when you work in customer service you must at least have the courtesy to greet or thank the person doing business with you. She scanned my groceries, transacted and gave me my receipt, for me that's not enough. I refuse to be treated this way, to be 'ignored', to be made feel that I'm not valued. Sobeys, you're not living up to what you claim "100% Satisfaction Guarantee" written on the receipt. You keep this up and you'll lose customers.
