Horrible service: some discrimination perhaps? Attendants keep an eye on you during your stay as if you would steal produce or something. Not the first time for that experience in this location.
Also, horrible produce: if you dare to charge a high margin, at least have decent quality produce (eggplants were pathetic, looked diseased, greens were all in rough shape as well). Not sure how convenience alone makes it for the high price tag + bad quality.

change your hours to the proper ones, don’t say you are open when you are not.

Wagyu Burgers + Potato Rolls = good times. Dont like being asked to tip when buying groceries, but this is where we are at I guess.

I popped in just to buy some feta cheese and had a wonderful fun conversation with Josh. I love how pretty this store is. The assortments the quality of the products and the great customer service.
However Josh made my day as he was gracious in listening to a crazy old lady chatter away, he was great to talk to you.

I have been a long term customer since I work downtown. I’ve noticed over the past 6 months a large decline in vegetarian food offered. They use to have many hot food choices, alongside veggie wraps and pizza. I have not seen a veggie wrap in months (I frequently attend between 11:30am and 1pm) and yesterday for the first time saw a vegetarian pizza (although I’d advertised to be offered daily). However, todays experience has solidified this is not the place to visit for lunch.
They have a hot food and a cold food station where you serve yourself and select the options, and price is based on weight. There is no sign near the hot food indicating the price per 100mg (it’s on the counter by the register instead) however I do know the cost of their food is pricey. Today I selected a half size container for my lunch and chose the vegetarian Mac and cheese, and a bit of vegan chilli to go with it. There are no scales accessible for customers to weigh their food selection to accurately weigh their lunch choice to keep in their budget. The only scales are at the cash register when you are paying, which is handled by staff. Today my half size of Mac and cheese cost $36. When I saw the total it was very embarrassing to tell the cashier that it was too much for pasta, and asked to reduce what was taken. I was told that they cannot reduce, and felt obligated to pay $36 for my pasta. I was made to feel stupid that I could not accurately feel the pasta and assume the weight, and pointed out that there is no weight scale for customers. Even a 5 star restaurant does not charge over $30 for Mac n cheese, I feel robbed and humiliated. Sharing so others know of their tactics to ensure no one else ever feels the way I did today, and doesn’t spend $36 on vegetarian Mac and Cheese. I hope owners have the chance to review this and update their process as this is unacceptable.

I went there to buy some produce to cook myself a meal while staying in a nearby hotel. The price was really high and the most vegi look terrible, which is not unexpected given the insane price point. I wonder how much food got wasted here, or do they use them to make food before they rot? If the store decides to put a huge mark up for the produce, at least restock them frequently and make them fresh. On the other hand, the sandwich and cooked food, while pricey, at least are within reasonable range.

I've never left a place feeling so humiliated. I normally have a good experience here, but when I ordered some meats and cheeses I had asked for something and was made to feel stupid because I guess I ordered something incorrectly. The guy behind the correct made it a point to tell me I was wrong and kept sharing looks with someone else at the other counter who then started to look at me as if I was an idiot.I didn't feel like buying anymore, because I could feel their eyes on me. There's a way to educate your customers about your products without humiliating them. Words matter. I was already having a such a bad day so I went here to lift my spirits, but left the building and sat outside and cried.I've seen others comments of how judgmental the environment is, and after this visit I have to agree.

Love your sourdough breads! A sliced option would be awesome as there are only two of us and we can’t get through a fresh loaf fast enough - this way we could freeze half and then have access to amazing toastables at our leisure : )

We always enjoy our excursions to Mottola Grocery in True North Square. As usual, we pucked up a still-warm rotisserie chicken, which turned out to be moist and tasty when we got it home. We also took home two scones for our next day's breakfast. We love the tomato jam and smoked olives, but didn't need any on this trip. We look forward to returning, soon.

Is this a joke? A grocery store downtown than no one who lives downtown can afford? Why build affordable housing when you can have an unafordable grocery store. Thanks true north.
