This place lives up to the stereotype of mechanics who take advantage of women and charge them for unnecessary services. I took my vehicle here for a complete inspection prior to my warranty expiring to get an independent third- party review. Not only do they charge twice the price for a basic service inspection ($120 vs. $60 at the dealership), they told me my rotors were warped and needed to be replaced. For reference the car is a 2021 Mazda CX-5 with 26,000 km. I barely drive so this didn’t make sense to me, I declined. They also said my oil was “dirty”, despite having an oil change three months ago in June and only putting 3,000 km on the car since then (Mazda recommends changing it every 6,000-8,000 kms). They also said my brake fluid and coolant was low but they would top it up if I agreed to an oil change, and they said I needed new wiper blades. All in this would have been almost $500.
A week later I took the car into the dealership to have it checked again. Lo and behold the rotors are fine, wiper blades are fine, oil is fine and fluid levels are fine. Ironically the engine and cabin filters were filthy, so the one thing they could have legitimately charged me for they didn’t even look at. Makes me wonder if they even checked the car at all.
When I picked up the vehicle at kingswood I asked how much it was to just top up the fluids. After humming and hawing and telling me “well we usually just do it with the oil change” the girl seemed to pull the price of $40 out of thin air. I had noticed the coolant light had been coming on in the car so I asked about just the coolant, and she replied $25. I kind of questioned her on this as it was just a top up by asking “how much is a bottle of coolant”, to which she replied, $20. I pressed on how $25 makes sense then, and she said because of their “time” as if I didn’t just pay you $120 to look at the car and it takes all of 30 seconds to pop the hood and top up the coolant. Stupidly I agreed to this despite being skeptical, paid the $140 bill, and asked some more questions about the rotors. I then ask if the coolant is going to be topped up to which she replies “it’s done”. My key fob has been sitting on the desk this whole time and at no point did she walk away to ask anyone to top up the coolant so how is that possible?
I already paid so at this point I just leave with a bad taste in my mouth, but after going to the dealership and finding out none of the things they said were wrong with the vehicle are actually a problem I’m straight pissed off cause these people are con artists.
Shame that such disingenuous business owners took over the shop from the reputable owners who had Penner Automotive previously. Long story short, avoid this place at all costs.

We were in from out of town visiting and there was something wrong with my friends car. They got us in right away and were so honest and transparent with what was wrong with the car. I’m so grateful they had us on the road safely! Great customer service! Would highly recommend!

Very happy with this garage, brought my truck to another garage to fix my ac, which I thought was related to an mpi claim as they had done the mpi repair. They quoted 200 dollars more than Kingswood for the same repair, and when I brought my truck to Kingswood they determined that the ac repair quoted was unneccessary and were able to get it working in a simpler and cheaper manner.
Will be bringing my truck back for any other repairs it needs.

These people are life savers! Had work done by them before and was very happy with their professionalism and flexibility for when we could bring our vehicle. Most recently, we had an engine emergency just a day before a road trip. Kingswood went above and beyond for us to get the part and install it for us. Forever grateful!

ATTENTION ALL WOMEN, YOU CAN TRUST THIS SHOP!!! Finally an auto shop who respects and cares for their customers!! Thank you for treating women with respect and not looking at us as stupid cash cows (it’s still very rare to find these days.) Kingswood Auto Centre is honest, takes pictures to show you what is going on so you know it’s true! They have a courtesy car so you’re not stuck scrambling to find rides. The owner actually comes out and chats with customers and shares his knowledge to HELP customers. My family will be with you as long as we live in Winnipeg. Thank you for your respectful and trustworthy business!!!

Not happy at all with the service. I took my truck in for an alignment and got a phone call from the mechanic saying that the tie road snapped and they have to change both the inner and outer tie road and that I have no choice on the matter. I wish they would call me soonest they figured out that it was seized so I can drive my truck back home. It cost me 4 times then I was expecting. Very unhappy.

Third time bringing our car here. We called Mon. morning to make an appt. and were happy that they could take our car the next day. Although there were several items needing to be fixed, the work was done by the end of the same day, and at the price quoted. Fast turnaround, good work, friendly and knowledgeable service.
