“I remember the Green Brier Inn from my childhood days in the 40's and 50's. I once found a $20 bill on the ground in front of the Inn, about 1950 when I wS 10 yrs old.”

“The Garrick Hotel Bar is adorned with vintage memorabilia, very cute/quaint and the room has a timeless quality to it. I had a Guinness just before a Jets game. The owner has a vision, a real pub atmosphere. Clean, safe, well staffed and maintained. The regulars all seem like nice people and many quirky characters haunt this downtown Winnipeg gem. I started smiling the first time I walked through the door.”

“Great location, Center of the city, right across from Canada life centre. There’s everything you need within walking distance. Stay here for one night, arrived around 12pm and they let me check in early, the room was large, clean and had a good atmosphere. The bathroom was clean and well designed as well.”

“We were there sept 1st we went to have a few drinks and play pool my kids and I. While we were at the pool table some patron was trying to hook up to the Bluetooth on the TV n the name that showed was get a job u squaw..was really passed off as we were the only natives in there. The security man working was amazing as he came n tried to figure out who did it n since he couldn't he just turned the TV off. Was really upset that we were trying to enjoy our night but some idiot ruined it. We will go back as it was not the bars fault ...”

“I was just here for an event. It was a great location for goth night. Large enough to accommodate and small enough to look packed. Floor plan worked and the dance floor was optimal.Bartenders could be a little friendlier. They did good but didn't look super happy to be there or spend any time chatting up patrons. Being in the industry, I know this is where their tips come from. All in all though, it was a great night.”

“This was our first visit to this location and we will definitely return.
Overall, our stay was quiet and the location of the hotel is perfect for walking or taking a ride on the complimentary bicycles around The Forks.
One small note: the bathroom offers an open concept under the vanity, which is appreciated. However, this also gives a clear view of the pipes... which are in dire need of dusting. A minor issue, but one nonetheless.”

“Stayed here for the first time. Room was large, very clean, and quiet.Yes there is a nightly parking fee which is kind of a downer, but for the price of the room and location of the hotel so close to the Forks and St. Boniface it's worth it.Yes, the area is safe. (Unlike another review said) It's just in the older french section of the city. This is a great hotel if you want quiet, clean rooms while being close to downtown. I will be staying here again.Nearby activities: Lots of cafes and boutique shops nearby. The Forks has lots of specialty and unique shops. Lots of museums nearby.Safety: It's in a mostly safe area. As a solo female traveller I did not feel unsafe at night. Just be careful as always no matter where you are.Walkability: Very walkable to many places downtown. Ten minutes to get to the Forks, about 30 to walk to the natural history museum.”

“The hotel has really great water park in Winnipeg and all staff was very kind. I was satisfied their service, the facilities, and lot of parking spaces. Very closed to airport and downtown. If you have child/children, I would recommend to go Canadiana !!!”

“That one worker thou wasnt nice at all about me getting my change back once I just finally found out that the slot machines don't take coins, it was only jamming it up . So I asked nicely and he didn't even seem to care and just plainly didn't want to help me get my change back !!!! Maybe have signs up if you don't wanna do your job right to help your customers get there donations back I'd say!!! Be nice. Maybe you too will get the same respect back if your wondering why ppl are rude to yous!”
