I had a regrettable experience with Carstar in Winnipeg that I feel compelled to share. In June 2020, I brought my Kia Sorento to them for a windshield replacement covered by insurance. Little did I know, this decision would lead to a series of unfortunate events.Shortly after the replacement, my family and I relocated to Vancouver. It wasn't long before we noticed water leaking into the car whenever it rained. Despite our best efforts, we couldn't figure out the source of the issue. Eventually, we discovered that the windshield hadn't been properly installed. It was so loose that a simple touch could dislodge it, leaving a significant gap.In 2023, we relocated again, and the problem worsened. Parking the car on the street exposed it to even more water, resulting in mold growth inside the vehicle. Seeking resolution, I contacted Carstar in Langley, BC, who confirmed the installation error and advised me to reach out to the Winnipeg branch for compensation.Unfortunately, my attempts to communicate with the Winnipeg branch were met with indifference. Despite numerous calls and messages, the owner chose to ignore my concerns and refused any compensation. As a result, I had to cover the costs of the windshield replacement, electrical repairs due to water damage, and mold remediation myself.It's disheartening to see such disregard for customer satisfaction and accountability. I strongly advise against seeking assistance from Carstar Winnipeg, as my experience suggests they may not prioritize resolving issues caused by their own negligence.Furthermore, we intend to bring this matter to the attention of CBC News to ensure that as many people as possible are aware of this case.In summary, my experience with Carstar Winnipeg was highly unsatisfactory, and I urge others to proceed with caution when considering their services.

The customer service from this place is less than subpar and starts from the owner down. There’s two chairs and the owner decides to place her things in one of them * see picture attached* so if two customers come in one has to stand, because they can’t be considerate enough of their customers.The previous estimator had no clue when they would call me about the claim or multiple claims we had on one vehicle and was just out to lunch which ended up delaying from us going in and having them update the claim as one was a vandalism and MPI didn’t include all the pics or info which was involved with it.I had two complimentary services for detailing as I’ve had previous vehicles and claims with them and had lacked communication / service from them. One person had booked me in, the day off neither one realized what I stopped in for ( which was the detailing) only to find out after from the receptionist the employee who was doing the work wasn’t the detailer and that the detailer had quit. Her response that the detailer didn’t show up to his last day and she didn’t know I was coming is unacceptable. It’s your job to look at the schedule to see if anyone is coming in. It was during that time we scheduled an estimate for our other vehicle to come in so they could see the damages and update the claim with MPI.The day we brought our vehicle in for the estimate coffee was split in the front that when I walked in there was three employees (receptionist, estimator and one from the back) all trying to clean up this mess and it took the employee that worked in the back to acknowledge a “good morning, someone will be with you shortly” after that i had the receptionist and estimator passing me off back and forth saying that the other person would be with me in a minute.The receptionist has told me numerous times that she’ll call me on this day and when that day comes I don’t hear from them till I have to call a couple days later to follow up. If you can’t take the time to call or forget then don’t say you’re gonna call or write it down somewhere. It’s disgusting that I have to constantly call a company to find out what’s going when it should be in reverseKnowing that I’ve been in customer service for many years, completely understand the stressors, peak season etc. but it’s ridiculous when you can’t treat a customer with some human decency.If I was the owner I would be ashamed to be reading this, this is absolute garbage customer service. How they think this okay blows my mind and Makes me wonder how the other locations are if this one produces revolting customer service. The only reason I continue to come to this location is because I know the painter and I know he holds his quality of work to a high degree and ensure the vehicles look good before going back to the customer. But the front of the house needs to drastically improve in order to have my mind change.

Dealing with unresponsive customer service is definitely be incredibly disheartening. This is the worst repair shop I have ever seen. They lied to me for months about when the parts would arrive. The woman at the front desk is so racist. She talks to me like if I am a child or a stupid person, like I don’t understand a single English word. Just because I have an accent doesn't mean I have to be treated less than a white person, and I am 100% sure she wouldn’t treat a white person the way she treated me. If she has a problem with minorities, she shouldn’t be working in customer service because she will not not only serve Caucasians or people without accents but everyone, whether they have an accent or not. Everyone should be welcome and be served equally. To my dismay, this women in front desk and a guy hung up the phone on me while I was talking to them trying to resolve the problem and to get a solution. I asked them if they don’t have any authority to solve the issue that I am facing to let me talk to the manager of the store to my dismay ? they refused to let me speak to the manager. They told me they don’t have a manager.I waited this repair shop to repair a damaged doors for my car for 10 months. It is insane to wait this long just to repair doors. No one experienced this. They infested my car with rodents when it stayed there for one month. My car started to stall while I was driving in the middle of the road. It happened right after I picked the car from the repair shop, and now it is not drivable at all. Before I take my car to the repair shop, my car was drivable and I drove it for 9 months and it was a well-functioning car, but they gave me a defective car after they repaired the doors. It was unbearably frustrating dealing with this repair shop, especially with the woman receptionist at the front desk. I wouldn’t recommend this repair shop to anyone I know. I don’t want them to go through the same frustration, distress I went through.I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED.

I went into carstar on Henderson to get a quote on my hail damage..They don't do quotes there..they would take the vehicle...in this case,I drove..over to their big facility on Dugald road ..It's very large..just west of plessis.Prompt courteous service..In about a half hour the car was in and out of the shop and a preliminary estimate was done..to be confirmed after mpic is done the strike..A very easy experience..everyone was very professional..

I’ve used this location twice and I have mixed feelings over this location and it’s hard to give this place a one star when the vehicles look great. Overall the back of the house and the technicians are well experienced and did an outstanding job that both times the vehicles look like an accident never occurred and went beyond their jobs to ensure the vehicles looks good and you can tell that there is a lot of pride in the work they do.The front of the house however was the complete opposite and where my frustration is. I completely understand that this industry is constantly busy and on going, but there is a definite lack of communication and attention to detail. Not knowing the status of my vehicles and what potential delays could be is quite frustrating especially when I’m entrusting them to look after the vehicles, and been told that what a job of a couple of days would be turns into over a week or longer. I’ve also had to make accommodations to come in as things may have been overlooked or not noticed which shows the disregard to attention to detail and the customer.I have a difficult time wanting to recommend this place when I know the work they do on the vehicles is great but the lack of communication and attention to detail to the customers and customer service needs to improve immensely.Service: Painting

My appointment has been rescheduled multiple times, and it has been seven months now since I've been waiting to get my car repaired. I feel incredibly frustrated with the situation. If anyone knows of another repair company that is reliable, I would highly appreciate any recommendations.

Do you remember the times when you were provided with excellent customer service and the establishment aimed to please? Well, these folks still deliver on that! Everyone I dealt with here on the two occasions my vehicles were serviced were super nice, and they gave outstanding customer service experiences. 1st visit Caleb gave exceptional service and made sure I was 100% satisfied. The 2nd visit it was Larry and he also delivered excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend, and I'll keep coming back! You're in good hands when you come here.
