One of the staff at this CIBC location is truly TERRIBLE. The way they treat certain customers is DISGUSTING. I had a little taste of this treatment myself when I went in one day to attempt to receive a new visa/debit card due to mine expiring that same day (I had bills to pay that day as well). I was given an unnecessarily hard time and was talked to, looked at, and treated like a criminal. I have had my CIBC account and have been paying this bank for their services for about 20 years. My ID has literally JUST expired (just 3 days prior) and this horrible woman refused to replace my old card with a new card despite providing multiple forms of identification including my SIN number. I have had an expired licence in the past and STILL received my new debit/credit years prior by a nice lady from a different location in St Vital. I would like to mention that I am an ethnic/European man and am the farthest thing from racist but I would still like to point out that this individual who had treated my wife and I so horrible was an over weight woman of color sitting at the furthest desk to the left (for any management reading this) and I truly felt she was profiling me. She could have given me my card and I know this from prior experiences. It was the end of the day and the last thing she wanted to do was spend the time to help me with my card. She needs to be talked to and needs a serious attitude change. Other than that, I have never EVER had a problem with other CIBC staff or other locations.
EDIT: 2 WEEKS LATER
First off I have been banking with CIBC for a bit over 20 years now. CIBC was my first and only bank as a young teenager. I would like to leave a review regarding some issues I had previously within the past month or so with a woman who had treated me like a criminal with unnecessary disrespect seemingly trying to rush me out of the door, that has completely been rectified by a DIFFERENT service agent named "Anmol" (I think). Pretty Indian looking women who was ABSOLUTELY kind to me and understanding about my situation that the last woman would NOT help me with. Anmol is the perfect mix of professional and kind. For any management reading this, I would love for you to treat Anmol with care and consider a raise and or promotion as soon as she is viable for such actions. She is great to deal with and goes that extra step (even at the end of the day) when us CIBC customers need it most.
Thanks Anmol. You have a kind heart. Hopefully you read this and this info reaches your seniors.”
“Staff are good & nice. Hours are too short. The branch should stay open 1 hour later 2 or 3 days a week. Not enough tellers on duty sometimes, which makes waiting times too long. The A.C.U. wastes too much paper. The transaction receipts they print use up an entire 8" x 11" sheet of paper! So about 3/4 of the paper is unnecessarily wasted.”

While she was not able to fulfill my requests due to circumstances outside her control, Maria was professional, kind, and knowledgeable. Further, she was a comforting presence in a trying time. “Today (14 august 2024 at 11:00 am) i made a visit according about uninformed service charges every month. My bank account shows no fees checking account but bank charges near about $24. I requested cashier about that and she asked from senior. One gentleman came and showed very bad customer service. He refused and said that he cannot do anything. I asked how can i close my account and he frequently got ready to close my account. This is lowerest customer service of that employee. Unfortunately i forgot to note down name of that employee. i am trying to make complaint to higher authorities about everything (customer service and uninformed money charged)
