Two months ago, my primary mission in life was to explore Manitoba & Saskatchewan, the interior provinces in the magnificent country of Canada.
My reasoning was that I was already familiar with Western Canadian provinces & territories AND Ontario East to the Maritimes; I needed to know more about these outstanding areas, and not just the big cities.
Motoring from El PasoTX-USA in my Ranger (my “FrankenBike” was perfectly stable on the rear Harbor Freight motorcycle rack), I was concerned about fuel in far-flung locations, and had even purchased a 10-liter spare tank, which was also quite stable beside my “FrankenBike”.
To say the least, I was EXTREMELY pleased to be able to stop at this needed gas station; in fact, I stopped here twice as Thompson was my most Northeasterly turnaround point.
The friendly cashier informed me of the hours:open everyday, (08:00-20:00), which, of course, is important not only for me but every traveller in a (motor) vehicle. The pump is rather rudimentary—be sure to park close to it, with your gas tank lid adjacent to the hose. The bathroom is not completely ADA accessible; I use a cane and found it a bit of a challenge. The store itself, like the parking lot, is large but has a limited selection of items; it’ll keep you alive!
I also motored due south a short distance to the small community of Wabowden, which has a stop for the train to Churchill. I would’ve liked to have gone to that outstanding community/port, but there is no road through—access is either by train/plane/boat (when Hudson Bay isn’t frozen for the season). The gravel road does continue South, but the ice road segment is NOT open during the Summer/warm times, so Norway House was not possible.
Regardless, I am SO PLEASED this fuel station is here! It definitely has my coveted “iWheel of Approval!”

No washrooms which is unfortunate as they are the only gas station anywhere close.

My friend felt obligated to buy something to use the filthy bathroom. I didn't after I found no tp, no soap, no paper towel, but I'm not sure I would have used them anyway considering the state of the place. Wish I had brought my phone in to take pictures
We went twice in two days and the attendant didn't acknowledge us once, didn't even look up or turn.
