Reading some reviews on here and I'm kind of shocked! I personally love this store and all of the employees I have encountered/worked with!
As a delivery driver, I understand people's concerns however in my personal experience everyone I have worked with has been great, including drivers.
This store has Allowed me Freedom and and earn for myself when I was not allowed to be any of those things.
In 2022, friends of this organization called Caring Unlimited helped me leave a pretty horrible situation in Ogunquit I was stuck in for over a decade. Long story short, many people involved, one victim of extreme DV.
As a gay man in a situation like that, it can feel incredibly isolating and really not many people are there to help you, not even DV organizations because they do not have the funding from the government to help gay men.
Hannaford and all of their employees have always treated me as an equal human and have always brought me joy as a team member doing deliveries. I have found Great Escape in the time I have spent delivering over the years for this store. Not just from what went on at home but inside me too while I battle Crohn's. The flexibility in the scheduling is really absolute freedom.
The togo workers and beyond have always(unknowingly) reminded me I am not only human but equal.
Thank You Hannaford! You have allowed my smile to actually feel good in very dark times and I will forever be grateful.
Since leaving in 2022 with help from friends of CU, I have been freed of many bad things. This did not mean walk in the park ahead but I was ready and grateful for the chance to Life. I have since lived in tents(dixons campground rainy 2023), I have lived in dilapidated rentals, however I have always got up, got ready and shown up to Hannaford with a smile knowing that they would make me feel appreciated and they always have.
Hannaford to go allowed me to maintain myself, keep myself Smiling(real not fake smiles) while staying focused while waiting on the York Workforce housing list. There have been Many times I have woken up in an incredibly dark place, chrones pain, non stop rain, losing everything in a moldy tent and coukd not stop thinking about the decade prior, but I got ready, showed up to Hannaford and one of their employees turned my whole day around.
I could go on but I should stop. Up until recently I was unable to talk about anything or open up to really anyone about this and I probably never will on majority of it. I have read some pretty nasty things on here and I just wanted to give my piece of actual peace they have given me.
You really never know how someone's feeling, what their day has included, but there are always people who are willing to make you laugh!

It's a grocery store and does what a grocery store does and they do it well! Good pre-made foods as well and sushi!
Update- still solid, .imus one star however since I go in expecting to purchase about $100 in items and walk out paying $300.

The employees here work so hard and are always so helpful and pleasant! From Hannaford to go-to meat-to produce and then cashiers and baggers (and any dept I missed) they're all so nice and helpful. Very grateful for them!

I love shopping here because it's close to my home. Their rewards program is one of the better ones - I am constantly getting coupons for free items and money off products I frequently buy. When I get the free items and I like them, I definitely purchase them again. All of the employees are friendly and I've gotten to know several by name over the years. The prices on brand name products are a bit higher than other stores, but when I need something quickly, they usually have what I need. I especially like their store brand products! Great prices on those and they taste just as good, if not better, than name brand products.

The store is modern and clean. The selection and quality is great. I only have it at 3 stars because it can be pricey. Especially in the summer during tourist season, but as a local, it's not fair to us to raise the prices in the summer. I tend to head over the bridge into Portsmouth to do my grocery shopping in the summer and most of the rest of the year. I only go to hannaford out of convenience because it's closer to home. Oh, and they're fresh flowers (except roses) last for weeks!

I have seen so many people go to pick up their life saving meds for themselves or their family members only to be told that they don't have it in stock. I watched one man who was saying that his son was going to literally die without the medication. They never bother to call and let you know. I have meds that get called in twice a week. It's always the same, and yes I need them. Its dangerous to NOT have them. But I guess I'll have to hope for the best. This pharmacy doesn't have them. They MAY tomorrow. My doctors office is closed now until Monday so I may end up at the hospital. Who knows. But as if that wasn't bad enough, the lady I spoke with was as rude and flat out NASTY as could be. I will never again use that pharmacy.
