I never leave reviews but am very bothered by an interaction I had with an employee at Estabrook's yesterday. I bought 3 'Firefly Peach Sky' Yarrow there in late May. They are now in bloom and only one of them is the correct color. Two of them are red. I suggested to the man that they were mislabeled. He said it was probably my soil or how I fertilized them but they are all in a clump together and were planted with the same ammendments. He then told me that by next summer the colors would change and all be the same. I really wanted this color and they are hard to find so I bought two more because they were in bloom and I could be sure of color. I would say at best he was arrogant and slightly condescending - not customer friendly at all. I will not be going back. And yes - their prices are through the roof but gorgeously displayed.

Yes, they have a gorgeous, huge selection of plants for our gardening dreams (for which they charge the highest of prices). My recent trips there have been a little frustrating in that even their staff members can't locate plants I'm trying to find that the website says they have in stock. Last week, two of the staff spent over ten minutes helping me look for a shrub I wanted. And that leads me to the next issue - they don't keep families of plants together. For example, the varieties of Buddleia and Wigela that I was looking at are located in several different areas, so comparing the varieties is not as easy as it should be. Lastly, I imagine knowledgable staff is probably difficult to come by these days, but the two people I asked for some basic advice on a couple of things really didn't know - I had little confidence in their answers. Yes, I will go again, but only when they have sales.

Gorgeous nursery with tons of plants, including a whole section of natives. Love the organization - each section clearly marked so you can quickly find what you’re looking for. Friendly staff too. But the prices! $38 for native iris? $28 for common milkweed? I don’t mind paying more for quality and service, but those prices are borderline laughable. Glad we hit up the University of Maine Annual Master Gardener Volunteer Plant Sale yesterday and got most of our plant shopping done.

Quality is their Hallmark. I've been a customer since 1993. Service is never far away either, for whatever your needs. Altogether, you can't walk in, and then walk out with nothing. And, it's not easy to find.
A rare place.

I have received multiple deliveries of Super Soil and mulch and have always been pleased and appreciated the delivery service. Like another reviewer said, the garden center is like a candy shop for a gardener. We are very lucky to have Estabrook’s.

Absolutely horrible. I ordered a bouquet with irises and tulips called tulip song for my mom’s birthday and they delivered a rose bouquet with something looking like holly berries even though it’s nearly dentistry and not Christmas. When I called they told me that they wouldn’t redeliver or refund because Teleflora approved their swap, even though I did not. What makes it even worse is that estabrooks called me directly the day before to confirm everything and they still did something completely different and were unwilling to assist in any way. The girl Jessica on the phone was also incredibly rude and short even though it was not in any way my mistake. Nobody seems to think it is crazy to deliver roses for a bouquet called Tulip Song. It honestly wouldn’t be that bad if they just redid the bouquet, but as Jessica said, “their hands are tied”. Shockingly horrible service from a place I have attended since I was 4 years old.

Beautiful nursery with quality products. That said, i was shocked at prices on a recent visit. $28 for purple coneflower Visited the Weston Nurseries in Hopkinton, MA a week later. Same plant and pot size, same quality nursery. Purple coneflower was $16.99. Sadly, I won’t be visiting Estabrooks again. They are just out of my price range.

All the accessories you could ever dream of ! Don't know what to get someone for a gift ? Get them a gift card to Estabrooks ! They will love it ! The staff is amazing ! Very helpful and friendly ! Consistently great service. Wonderful selection of plants. Someone always checks in with you as you are looking for a species and will offer to find it or radio in a staff member to help. Always a smile and friendly face here. It is very much appreciated! Trees and plants however are very very expensive here. Sticker shock. Paid 30 dollars for a small plant (brunnera) last year.
