Just rented a pontoon for a 3 day fishing trip and the boat was awesome. The driver was super knowledgeable. He was on time, early in fact, and super courteous. He took alot of time showing me around the boat, where everything was and how to use it. Everything was clearly explained and VERY detailed. Thanks MBR for making our fishing trip the best yet, will definitely rent again.

Wonderful experience! We rented a pontoon boat for 2 days and did not have a dock at our rental home. The kind owners allowed us to use thier dock right down the road. Our delivery person, Mary was super nice, funny and helpful. Gave great tips for our Acadia day trip. The owners had to swap out our boat and were great, accommodating us with a better boat. Every phone call to them was kind and helpful. Highly recommended!!!

Worst experience I have EVER had renting anything from a company. We had some damage on a pontoon we rented for 8 days. We were charged double for repairs. I know this because we have a pontoon and my husband knows the cost of repairs. We have a friend we are visiting here in Maine who is a boat captain and he also said the cost was ridiculous. I was charged over 4K. We were charged for several things that my husband has no idea what they are. Scott did give me 290$ refund after I asked questions. What a joke!!!He charged 4000$ on my credit card (and never called and explained anything to my husband.)He charged it in different increments so my bank would let it go through after trying to charge a bigger amount and being denied. Wish I had of read ALL the fine print and reviews. My Bad. But, I can tell by the way Scott spouts off to the people who post bad reviews that he just tries to cover his tracks just like his response to emails.Oh and Scott Jeff was very nice to the girl who delivered the pontoon and Jeff helped Nate check out the lower unit and tipped him. Other than that there has been NO communication except emails. And no I wasn’t very nice to you because you weren’t very nice or fair to us.

Skipped a line of 8 people waiting at the launch to load their boats and then took 30 minutes to load the boat. Not the courtesy of central maine people. Get a clue!Let me edit to add since your response is so aggressive, with that alone I wouldn’t recommend you as a business:China lake, Saturday 7/23 between 3-4pm.Grey 3/4 ton dodge pickup. Your logo on the truck and the guys shirt. Younger guy, couldn’t figure out how to get the boat loaded - couldn’t get it on the trailer even, hooked it unhooked it. Put it off and on the trailer a handful of times. Then pulled up and easily took another half hour to tie it down.Boats tied to the dock and boats waiting, one of the people actively trying to back across the rd into the launch. The rented boat drove around the boats that were waiting from out in the lake and your driver backed down to get the boat. You are correct he did not skip a line of waiting trucks. There is no make ready area, it’s the road.No busy launches anywhere in the area on a sunny Saturday when it’s rained for an entire month- that’s a joke.

Amazing customer service and a wide variety of options for rentals! The drivers are extremely professional and knowledgeable. Would 10/10 recommend for all boat rental needs in Maine!

This place is terrible !!! They try to keep your money and then make up stories . I would not ever rent from them again . Their customer service is beyond wretched . I cannot believe this is a real business.

This is by far the worst company I have ever rented from. This company only cares about money and their image. Customer service is not even close to their priority.I rented from them last summer. While, it was extremely expensive, everything went smoothly. This year we decided to repeat and rent a ski boat with them again. On the first day, a quick storm came through and blew the boat away from its mooring. The boat was adrift in the lake for a short while until we noticed and had the boat back in control within 20 minutes. The boat was totally fine, not a scratch was found and the boat wasn't even close to being in danger. MBR found out and called us. They told us that they wanted to check on the boat to see if there was damage, which was a reasonable request. We obliged and came in to check in. Little did we know they lied to us and were going to confiscate the boat no matter what they found. They never wanted to talk, negotiate or come to some sort of neutral agreement. They pulled the boat out of the water and left us stranded. As our confusion waned into anger they became hostile, never explaining anything. They pulled away threatening police and we never heard from them again.I understand that we messed up, and we acknowledged our mistake. Had the boat have even the slightest damage I would never have complained, understanding the situation. But that never happened. I was hoping that our week long rental with them last year would be some sort of indication that we were not "irresponsible" as they called us. But no, nothing matters to them except themselves. I thought they were in the business of customer service and making people have a great time on the lake. I was wrong. They only care about themselves and making money. They never refunded us for the days they took away from us.To people considering renting from them, especially new boat users. Beware, any mistake you make will met with owners who care about themselves and their boats. They don't care about you vacation, your mood, or if you have fun. I recommend finding a company that has MUCH better customer service, sympathetic owners and most importantly kind people.

First, I want to share that they have great staff and high quality boats. Their delivery service to Maine lakes without marinas is a great service. This is our second year renting from them and I gave them 2 stars, because this year we had an issue and had to deal with the owner who in my opinion is an awful business person.We rented a ski boat including water skis. When went out to water ski, we realized that they gave us Junior skis that only fit adults sizes 2 to 7. We called Maine Boat Rental and spoke to the person who delivered our boat. She shared that they only had one type of skis and that perhaps we did not know how to adjust the size. At that point we texted them a picture of the ski which clearly showed that they gave us a junior ski. After checking with the owner, she shared that they would credit us for the skis but did not have a solution. I shared that this was not an acceptable solution and asked to speak with the owner who called me about 30 minutes later. The owner also shared that they only have one type of ski and that it is our problem that we don’t know how to adjust the water ski. Again I told them that that they gave us Junior skis which he said was not possible. I asked him to bring me another pair of skis and he said he would have to charge me for the delivery as it was an hour away from their location. At that point, I did lose my cool and the owner hung up on me. I called back and eventually convinced him to deliver a new pair of skis without charging me.The new skis were delivered an hour later and worked great. The person who delivered the skis did confirm that we were indeed given junior skis and was surprised as they don’t carry junior skis. So back to the two star rating – my discussion with the owner was unnecessarily tense which is not what anybody wants while on vacation. He clearly did not care about our problem even with a picture that clearly showed we had junior skis. I would have expected some acknowledgement from the owner when they received back the junior skis they gave us, but we never heard from him again.Again, they have great staff and boats, but beware of the owner who will not stand behind their service if you have any problems.

5 stars. Delivery and pick up was well communicated and completed without an issue. The pontoon was in great shape and like new. Had a rare issue with the prop falling off but the owner was out within 15 minutes to replace and get us back on the water within 30 minutes. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great family owned and operated business.
