I was a customer at People's United Bank for several years. Banking there was a good experience then M&T Banking took over. The bank became, in my opinion, very non customer friendly. Most of the staff from People's had been replaced and the atmosphere was just not the same. Recently I had an issue with one of my accounts where M&T told me they would call me with an answer to the issue in two days. The two days came and went.They denied I was told that time frame. I asked to speak to the bank manager. The manager came out of a office looking like he slept there. Unshaven, wrinkled, no necktie, very unprofessional looking. I called their corporate office and got the answer I needed on the same call. Today I closed out all of my three accounts. There are several banks in the town of Windham. You have several to pick and choose from. Don't pick M&T.
