There has been a notable deterioration of after-sales service over the past six months or so. (It used to be very good.) I would not recommend this place anymore.

Amazing, fast service during another one of those winter weather issues. I spent a lot of time trying to prep for winter with my snow blower. Prepping the gas, starting it throughout the summer months and letting it run, checking the oil. Despite all this, when the big day came to use the snow blower, it wouldn't blow snow, just start and stall over and over and over. As everyone knows, if you live in Maine you need to have a way to remove snow, especially if your driveway is as long as ours. So I started calling around and every repair place was booked out by at least 4 weeks. Luckily I found Sportsman's through word of mouth and they can to pick up our snowblower ($15 pick up and $15 drop off). They repaired it within 3 days! We had a storm the following day and BAM snowblower repaired and working better than ever. It even came back with an EXTREMELY detailed repair report which I appreciate! I highly recommend this place for their prompt turnaround times and responsiveness!

In a time when customer service is suffering and businesses are short staffed I could not be more impressed with Sportsman's Hardware. I made a service call for my snowblower and Ryan returned my call very quickly and provided pick up, service, and delivery in a matter of days. The final bill was very reasonable and I will definitely use them again.

Sportsman's used to be the go to store instead of major corporate competition, but when it comes to service, they only care about the bottom dollar as much or more than their competition. When look for an item they didn't have to move a huge piece, I rented a pair of dollys for $14.28. Found what I was looking for in a competitor store and didn't even use the dollys. I totally forgot about them the next day and I called and was told don't worry about it, no big deal, but when I did return them it was later the following day. So essential I asked for any discount and instead only charging me a day, they charged me an additional day since it was a couple of hours late. So then I paid the additional $31.98 for some horrifyingly dirty and old dollys. Unfortunately I cannot continue to spend time and money in a place that doesn't care about their customers.

If I could give zero stars I would.Do not bother with any chippers. Contract states only green and under 6" pieces. Chipper couldn't chip 3" branches and the green leaves stated in the contract jamed the chipper. Called to return, said okay we can refund. Show up they claim that because there is green leaves it is our fault for the chipper not working. Then claims we won't get a full refund and are charging us for 4 hours, which is HALF of what we paid for the rental. We had the chipper less than two hours. Between the chipper not working and the time it took for them to call the owner the company missed out on 4 hours of work because we had to now rent a different chipper from another company. Horrible customer service. We will be taking our business elsewhere from now on. This is not how you treat customers.
