Thank you Andy for being flexible and coming down to the first floor to draw blood from my elderly mother when the elevator in your building broke. She has disappearing veins and this is often a traumatic event for her. You did a terrific job putting her at ease and getting what was needed very efficiently. ?

Not child friendly and the whole place just felt and looked dirty. Tried on both sides to draw blood from my infant and then they gave up. They held him down and moved the needle all around trying to find it. Clearly they are not used to drawing from babies. They also put gauze and tape on then told me it was a choking hazard and to take it off when we got home… maybe they should just use something else for kids?

Be prepared for a crowded waiting room, with SRO as standard. And having to use a public bathroom down the hall to do a urine sample and the bring it back to the Nordx office. The peeps who work here are obviously working as hard as they can though and are pleasant. Shame on Maine Health for not having adequate waiting space and a dedicated bathroom for the Nordx lab. They do own the building after all.

While I have only been here myself once, I have dropped off family members here a few times. It's located in the middle of two very busy intersections. However, there are two entrances and of course exits. So getting in and out is fairly easy to do. The parking lot is almost always busy, unfortunately. It looks a lot bigger from the outside than it is on the inside. When you enter the building they have someone sitting in a chair nothing fancy, However, they will ask you where you are going and make sure to direct you to your location If you have any questions. I am sure there are areas that I haven't seen or have access to. Nordex is located on the second floor to the left when you get off the elevator. A small section with very friendly staff. A few small rooms for getting your blood drawn. Very speedy service I've found. Even with Covid going on they take care to clean and keep you safe which is nice. They have taken everything out of their waiting room for the most part along with taping up some of the chairs in the room.

Wow. I called today with a question about my daughter's upcoming blood test and left a message. When the woman called me back (I regret not asking for her name), she didn't identify herself until I asked who was calling. Then, when I said I was calling to ask if her blood tests were fasting or not fasting, I was told in a very condescendingly sarcastic tone, "well, if your doctor said they are fasting, then they are fasting. If they're not, then they're not. " I was so shocked at her attitude, that all I could say was that "I didn't ask her doctor, and they didn't tell me, which is why I was calling you." Then she asked for my daughter's name, which I provided in full, and she interrupted me to say that she needed her LAST name. Which I had JUST given and spelled out. So I repeated it. She found her chart, and verified that they were fasting. This entire phone call was unprofessional was conducted the lowest level of customer service I have encountered in a long time. I sincerely hope that the person who answers the phone is not the same person drawing blood. My daughter is nervous enough about her first blood draw, and if this is what their bedside manner is like tomorrow morning...we are going to have a problem. Unacceptable, NorDx. I'm sure you get a lot of "dumb" questions, but 1) don't assume that mine is and 2) answering questions is your JOB, dumb or not, and you should do it politely and professionally.
