“So much better than the food you can get at any other convenience store... To the point where I drive out of my way to come here for lunch when working out on the road!”
“In 2001, this building was a Walmart. On September 10 of that year Mohamed Atta and Abdulaziz al-Omari bought some box cutters here. The next day, they flew a Boeing 767 into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. This place has some serious history.”
“Couple employees need learn to smile and tune up the not really to bad of attitudes but it doesn't hurt to smile and be positive, but everyone else y'all are awesome love getting cashed out and when I ask a simple question y'all reply and smile unless you're under the weather but even then y'all try to be cheerful.
I've been in there 2 times for something I randomly needed and BOTH TIMES I left without the items, BUT RANDOMLY NEEDING SOMETHING and never looked for it prior to those 2 times is uncontrollable
Love walking around and finding random must need items though and employees are very helpful and even when they know they are completely out of stock they always look on the shelves and check out back and then they confirm that they don't have any in stock for the customers, even the don't know how to smile and keep eye contact on the registers only will make sure they get a positive there out of stock before they assure the customers that your completely out,
Hopefully I get the attention to the upper management team with this Post. Either your Portland employees should be considered for a raise or something that shows appreciation and not a thank you for being such hard workers”
“I love this store. there’s something for everyone, the prices are fabulous, the selection changes frequently, and the staff are so nice. Plus this company really seems to do a good things in the community. I shop here regularly, and recommend the store highly.”
“This store I fairly new to our area however, I find it very helpful where it is in it's location! Great place to put that store, I go there very often and always find what I'm seeking at the most reasonable affordable prices! The staff is very friendly and super helpful! I am super grateful to have such a handy store of so many different products all in one store, at discount prices! Thank you!”
“North Deering, Portland ME: Frequent shopper, just visited store. Gentleman that's running register is only person in store, manager I believe, full store, line down the aisle. He is so professional and gregarious not one of us wasn't impressed with him. Thanks Bill,”
“Save a lot is an amazing store. I miss having one here in NH it is an amazing store that helps families get loads of groceries for an amazing price. The only store where people low income can feel like they can supply their families for a month at a time that isn't restricting on their wallets. If I could request one thing it would be that Save A lot come back up north to new Hampshire. The only downfall some may have is that they use boxes for you can pack your goods of you can buy bags for 10 cents each, but worth it for the price of food.”
“I empathize with the female staff member who effectively managed a hectic line and a rude customer under stressful conditions. The store was orderly, with a wet floor sign near a spill by the second register.”
“They are not the big one in South Portland so they don't carry everything your looking for. but if you are going over for a quick bite to eat for dinner you can put something together nicely. and I will say usually things fly off the self here but the shelves were mostly stocked which was good to see.”
“The family needed drinking water for our one night stay in the hotel. However, there was no close by grocery store or drug store. We did not want to be extorted by the gas station convenient stores. Dollar Tree came to the rescue. The store was located only one long block away in a strip center. $1.25 for name brand half liter bottle worked for us. The store was organized, and I had no problem locating the water. The cashier was friendly and quick.”

“I never did go into the older Family Dollar, as it was just being emptied of it's merchandise into the dumpster, a few days after I moved in my apartment in Westbrook, ME. The newly renovated and designed store is very organized and very clean. The employees are always very friendly and personable!! I am just happy to have this store, open now, really close to where I live. ????♀️?”
