I have taken both beginning and intermediate obedience classes with Sara, one with each of my Scottish Deerhounds. I can attest that these are, without a doubt, the most organized, thoughtful and wonderful classes - and this from a 50-year handler and trainer. I learned (and re-learned) many key facets of reward, teaching methodology, follow-through and real-life exposure and practice. I particularly love that Sara's emphasis is on the other end of the leash (a great book, BTW), and in the relationship between the dog and the handler - having the dog have fun and be relaxed, and not focusing on strict "obedience" as you would drill for in competition. She provided videos for dog body language, handouts for each week of classes, and a video of your class to review. I have printed out all of these, and the additional materials (readings, charts, etc.) she sends via email.I have to admit I was skeptical of on-line classes; my first CGC class with her was in person, outside, and great. The second class with the puppy was online - and it provided a superb venue for the puppy teams to work together without the distractions of other dogs and environs. The focus was on the relationship of the team members, and the skills of the handler(s). Sara focused on each team in turn, provided feedback and often handouts on the additional behaviors discussed (jumping, barking, etc.). The final week was a class of games - who knew it could be so fun?!? Sara has a remarkable ability to present material, work personally with her students, and provide invaluable insights and humor. She is indeed #1.

Sara is amazing! I learned so much about how to effectively communicate with my dog. He learned lots of new skills and my relationship with him got even better! The course I took was online and the format was excellent. Sara was able to provide 1 on 1 guidance while also keeping the whole class engaged. I 100% recommend taking a class. You won't regret it!

My 6 month old puppy and I did the online Basic Obedience class with with Mr Dog Training. Sara was a wonderful trainer, she explained everything very well, had fun lessons and was very attentive to questions. The classes really helped build the trust and confidence between myself and my pup and we learned so much along the way. I'm looking forward to taking the intermediate level with her. Thanks Sara!

Sara’s training is gentle. I learned how to understand my dog’s body language and how to work with him in an affirmative and effective way. This was a very helpful, informative and encouraging training program.

Sara's classes are a great teaching tool to show the human how to communicate with their puppy. It provided me with tricks and tools on how to stimulate his brain, control unwanted behaviors and bring out his best. At first I thought doing classes virtually was not going to be as effective as in person but Sara makes it work very effectively. We have graduated two classes and plan to go back for more training. Even Theo is so happy he is singing Sara's praises.

Sara is the best! My puppy and I have taken two classes with her so far and more are on our calendar. She's fun and positive with a good understanding of dog (and human) behavior.

We love Mr. Dog Training! Sara is a compassionate, encouraging, and knowledgeable instructor. Along with teaching practical real-world skills, she teaches how to understand and communicate with your dog. Sara meets each dog where they are on their training journey to make it a positive experience for everyone. My dog Maisie and I have taken multiple virtual and in-person classes, and I’ve noticed such a transformation in Maisie’s focus and confidence. We both have so much fun training together. Thank you, Sara!

This was the best experience for me and my dog! Sara is amazing. She is patient, funny and kind, and she understands dog behaviors and training like no one else I’ve worked with before. We signed up for a second class with Sara just hours after we graduated from her first class. I would highly recommend taking a class from Sara/Mr. Dog Training!!

I have taken multiple classes with Sara with five of my dogs. I'd always give her a five star rating. She's knowledgeable and will work individually with you as needed, customizing training to your particular dog's needs. I have taken dog training from other trainers in the past; Sara's the best!

Just finished Basic Obedience with our 17 month old Lab, Marvey. What makes Sara unique is her understanding of the dogs’ mentality and the importance of positive reinforcement for effective bonding and training. She debunks the need for the owner to become the Alpha in the relationship which I found refreshing. Given her understanding of the canine mind and her lighthearted methods, it is not surprising she repeatedly wins best trainer acclaim.

I highly recommend taking Sara's basic obedience class. It is an excellent time to bond and connect with your dog and also to learn great techniques and training skills. Sara is patient, fun, and always willing to help you in any situation. We thoroughly enjoyed spending our Thursday nights with Sara over Zoom. Also, her Zoom class is phenomenal and she runs it smoothly. Don't let the zoom style hold you back. It is all worth it! Have fun ~ Team Juno

Working with Sara is always fun and a great learning experience. She uses her positive perspective and extremely effective training methods to teach humans to bond and work with their dogs. My first class with Sara was in 2016 and I just finished a class with a newly rescued dog. My dog loved the class as did I.

I followed trainers on TikTok, Instagram, and podcasts and nothing compares to training with Sarah! We just finished basic obedience and can’t wait to take more of their classes!
