They have good options and prices, though they also have UNACCEPTABLE products on their shelves. have had a few bad experiences. There was pre-made soups on the right side when you walk in near the bakery , and a ton of their vegan soups were over a month PAST the expiration. thankfully i noticed. To top it off, I bought one of my favorite breads, and not sure if they're storing it improperly but there was mold growing on the bread 3 days before the expiration date listed on the package. This place is not fresh or clean and I fear of getting sick shopping here. Attached some photos below!

Bright, clean, well-stocked grocery store. We shopped here twice in our four-day visit to Ogunquit. Hannaford had everything we were looking for -- except oysters. But we understood it was pretty late in the season. Staff were friendly and helpful. If I lived in the area, this would be my go-to grocery. Fresh produce and meats and fish. Attractive displays. And did I say how helpful everyone was? And friendly?

For the last several weeks, we do not understand what is going on with the quality of produce from this store. Several times we get home to a half bag of rotten ( and I mean put your fingers in there rotten) nectarines, potatoes and onions, and iceburg lettuce. I know they won't take back returns on any food, however we are beginning to think that they are purposely doing this purposely as they know that. WARNING : buy your produce elsewhere !!! Try " MARKET BASKET IN PORTSMOUTH". It's actually highway robbery and we throw the whole bag of "OVERPRICED TO BEGIN WITH ITEMS AWAY". WE MUST HAVE GONE THROUGH THIS AT LEAST ONCE EVERY WEEK, I THINK THAT THEY ARE PUSHING OFF THIS STUFF THAT BELONGS ON A CLEARANCE RACK" THEY SHOULD LITERALLY UNBAG AND TOSS THEIR OWN GARBAGE AWAY.

I have always loved Hannaford s. . My recent visit not happy. Seems orderly entrance, carts cleaned. Signs demanding masks. Numbers counted so why are there people being served not wearing a mask? Don’t feel I should be the one to confront people. Why are they served? My encounter was at the fish counter. NOT GOOD!

This is an 'ok' Hannaford. But beware the Seafood counter. The service is horrible. Zero personality with any of the toads behind the counter. I stood there for five minutes - the only person in line - and not one of those bozos even lifted their heads to make eye contact and say "I'll be right with you." AND I got really inferior product from them two out of three days. First were the cooked 16/20 shrimp. Absolutely the most useless shrimp I 'never tasted'. Yup - even with cocktail sauce it was just like eating pap. Then two days later we got some lobsters already steamed. When we cracked open the claws, some white foamy mush was inside. To the store''s credit we got the lobsters replaced at no-charge, but whomever is in charge of 'cooking' should go back to school. Final note: when I brought the problem of the shrimp to the attention of the 20-something gum-chewer behind the customer service desk (I asked for a Manager, and she said 'well, I can help you', and then didn't. She listened, and all she said was 'I'll be sure to bring it to the attention of the Seafood Dept." When we came back to be reimbursed for the lobster debacle, I questioned the Mgr we spoke with about the shrimp situation, and he said he hadn't heard anything about it. We'll keep shopping there because there's really no where else to go, but will steer very clear of the Seafood counter.

This is the market closest to the place where we'll be staying for the next week. We just drove down from Portland and after unpacking we drove over to Hanaford to stock up on groceries. Highway 1 was jammed w/ cars heading north and south, people getting away for the Labor Day Weekend, but we managed to join the throng and find Hanaford. We have shopped at other Hanafords on previous trips to Maine and have liked them. This one is large, clean and well stocked. Lots of other people were shopping, probably for weekend getaways, but everyone was polite. I won't detail all we bought, but we found teas for traveling, peanut butter, English muffins, bananas, watermelon, apples and nectarines, so we'll be set. The yellow nectarines were cheaper than the white ones, and better. So many of the white ones were bruised that I could find only 2 that passed muster, compared to 5 or 6 of the yellow ones. My biggest complaint is that the checker bagged our groceries in an excess of plastic bags, one for the watermelon, another for the teas, etc, etc. We must have ended up w/ 6 or 7 bags. Maybe it's because in California we're hyperaware of the destructiveness of plastics on the environment that this surprised me. It always surprises me when people who live by the ocean are unaware of the impact of plastics on marine life.

The parking area is huge. This is a very large full service grocery, supermarket. We get everything we need here every time we are in The York Beach area of Maine. Not only the locals utilize this grocery store. I love walking by people to hear their French Canadian accents. Yes this place is open year round; it's not a seasonal store. We loved their snacks area!

Hey D-Nose! I said paper! It's 2018 I shouldn't have to ask. You're how close to the ocean? Pathetic. Your prices are outrageous. Stop gentrifying Wells. Take this bread and shove it

So this place is running a major scam with Money Pak...here is how the scam works...I went there with a Green Dot credit card and wanted to load $190 on it....the customer service person will point you to the Money Pak cards even though she could have loaded the cash on my card....what happens then is you can never load the money as the website they take you to will never allow you to load the funds and the customer service number is a perpetual menu of automated message never getting to speak to anyone live. Also Hannaford will not give you the cash back they claim it's not their business even though they direct you to the Money Pak scam....I believe they are in this with Money Pak probably on a 50/50 split on your money....stay away from anything Hannafords does.

We had a craving for lobster, so I called Hannaford's on Friday late afternoon in August hoping they could help. The seafood department volunteered to set aside the ten lobsters I wanted, each at least 1.25 pounds and some larger than 1.5 pounds. When I went to pick them up fifteen minutes later they were all bagged and ready to go. Outstanding service and excellent lobsters - they were delicious.

Never been treated better at a grocery store! I am so thankful that Jill and Dylan from riteaid don't work here!
